Sam Asghari has sent the internet wild following his latest social media post, which suggested that he was dissing Britney Spears‘ ex-lover Justin Timberlake.
Did Sam Asghari Shade Justin Timberlake?
Justin and Britney have a long history together, especially since she was responsible for one of his hit singles entitled ‘Cry Me a River.’
The song was reportedly based upon Justin’s break-up with Britney following an alleged rumour that she had cheated on him during their time together.
So when Sam decided to refer to one of Justin’s most popular tracks in his post, there was a feeling from fans that he was trying to say something. During a social media post at the time, Sam shared a picture of a magazine article that stated Britney had helped his career.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “Bringing sexy back is cool, And all but bringing (real) back in Hollywood is even sexier.”
Given that ‘Sexy Back’ was one of Justin’s most popular music tracks, fans started to jump on the bandwagon and claim he was trying to make a comparison between himself and Justin over who was the bigger name.
This begs the question, what did Justin have to say in response? Well, as of now, the singer has not said anything, which is understandable given that he most likely did not take any offence to it.
In any event, Britney is someone who is in his past, and that is how he probably intends to keep it. Nevertheless, that did not stop fans from having a field day on social media.
A certain subset of people felt that this was a dig towards Justin, given that Sam wanted to show the whole world just how happy he is at this point in his life.
Meanwhile, others viewed it as none other than a case of light-hearted jest. One user on social media remarked: “Did Sam Asghari just drag Justin Timberlake,” while another stated: “Did Sam just shade JT?”
Regardless of the motivations for Sam’s post, it is clear that he and Justin are in a really good place at the moment. And that is something they will be hoping to continue moving forward.
