WWE Starrcade 2019 has wrapped up it’s hour and fifteen minutes on the WWE Network, but the show is still going on as I type this, and in fact had already been underway for some time at the time that it went live. Among those matches that have already come and gone was former WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins going head to head with Erick Rowan.
The two of them had previously squared off in a Last Man Standing match on Raw which was a pretty solid one in my estimation, albeit one with stunningly little build. At WWE Starrcade 2019, the two of them went head to head in a straight-up match.
Judging from photos and videos, it appears that Seth Rollins was ironically quite cheered tonight, after being booed for months and finally solidifying his heel turned this past week. But then again, Starrcade in Atlanta has a much more oldschool crowd, mixed with sort of a casual house show audience. So they were always more likely to go along with him than others, and Rollins did kinda have to be the face against Erick Rowan regardless.
Seth Rollins would go on to defeat Erick Rowan
It would seem that Rollins indeed beat Erick Rowan clean with a curb stomp, which I imagine would go over pretty well with this audience. Regardless of how the alignment skewed, Rollins was always the logical winner of this match. He’s a bigger name and while house show settings usually favor babyfaces by a wide margin, well, that’s not a lot of help to Rowan who’s gonna be a hard sell as a face regardless of who he’s in the ring with right now.
I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and I will be continuing my coverage of WWE Starrcade 2019 until we’ve gotten to our last match.
