Cameron Grimes has come from humble beginnings in life, and despite now being rich – kept his long hair and beard to serve as a constant reminder of where he came from. This made the haircut from Duke Hudson all the worse – and tonight, Hudson has a chance to finish the job. It’s hair vs. hair, and Grimes needs to overcome the six foot five Australian powerhouse to protect his hair.
Duke Hudson Lands Some Heavy Blows
The barbers chair would be set up in the right ring, while the match goes down in the left ring, actually a great use of the two rings on the show outside of the WarGames matches. Hudson would go right to work on Grimes, cornering him with some heavy blows. Grimes would come back with some midkicks, before being chucked over the top rope and onto the steel steps.
The tight ringside area is not suited for battle, but they’d brawl it out before Grimes was sent into the ring. Having the high ground would allow Grimes to nail some running forearm smashes, before running into a big uranage out of the corner. Hudson would fall to a moonsault off the top, but was able to kick out at the two count.
Again this one spilled to the outside, where Hudson nailed an exploder suplex and nearly took the countout win, Grimes getting back into the ring at eight. Hudson applied an abdominal stretch, but Grimes would fight out. A big suplex from Hudson was blocked into a small package for a two count, before hitting a big backbreaker.
Cameron Grimes Saves His Hair
Grimes would keep fighting with an enziguri and standing Spanish Fly, getting a two count. Hudson tried for a big side slam, but was caught with a DDT. Rolling to the outside, Hudson only found a PK to the chest, and Grimes tried to take him over with a sunset flip and was blocked- but Hudson tried to grab the ropes and was caught.
A superkick and poisonrana rocked Hudson, and a high crossbody would get a close two count. Hudson would catch Grimes with Winds of Change – and looked for the Razor’s Edge. Instead, he took a rana into the corner and rolled him up for the win!
Hudson tried to flee, and caught Grimes with a big lariat by the barber’s chair. He’d load Grimes into the chair and grab the clippers, but Grimes was playing possum, and nailed the Cave In. Hudson took the seat, and got a nice haircut before fleeing.
Match Rating: 3.5/5 (*** 1/2)
