Right now, Kurt Angle had a very unsatisfying finish to his WWE career. While he was able to make it into the Hall of Fame, his final match came with a loss to Baron Corbin at Wrestlemania. Many fans were mad about this at the time, and time has done little to mend these wounds. However now years later – Kurt Angle reveals one more match he would consider having in WWE.
Kurt Angle Is Down For Another Tag Team Match Against Rey Mysterio
While speaking with Paul Bromwell & Rey Mysterio on his podcast, fittingly named The Kurt Angle show. WWE missed a chance to rekindle this classic rivalry which opened Summerslam 2002, as these two had a perfect mix of styles. After talking about how great their matches always were, Angle would have the following to say.
“Well Rey I think we could have one more match together, but I need to find a tag team partner against you and Dominik. Just so I don’t have to do all the work just like you don’t have to now. But we’ll talk about that at another time.”
A Few Potential Partners For Angle In A Potential Final Match
This would be so much better than his letdown of a singles match against Corbin ending his career. WWE has a lot of talented names who would be put into a match like this, with a great option being Chad Gable. Gable has often been seen as the second coming of Kurt Angle with his in-ring style, and should have been given the gimmick of “Kurt Angle’s Son” over Jason Jordan.
Jordan would also be a great fit for this moment, but sadly he entered a very premature retirement due to injuries. This match could even be visited as a debut for Gable Steveson, someone who much like Angle has won an Olympic gold medal in wrestling. Steveson has been drafted to Monday Night RAW, but has yet to make his debut.
