So, there’s been a big update on the Fallout series that has been in the talks as production is to kick off this year. This is pretty big as video games have been getting adaptations in the past few years thanks to what worked with comics in the years prior.
Fallout Will Land on Amazon Prime Video
The streaming TV series will be handled by Kilter Films and presented through Amazon Studios. Fallout’s pilot will see Kilter Films’ Jonathan Nolan direct the pilot while two other big-name writers—Graham Wagner of The Office and Silicon Valley and Captain Marvel and Tomb Raider’s Geneva Robertson-Dworet—will also be on board.
At the moment, there is no date for when the show will air on Amazon Prime Video. Also, what the team has in mind for how the first season will play out. It’ll definitely have the same base as the franchise is based in a nuclear wasteland but if it’ll resonate the same vibe as those video games will have to see once the series drops.
What Is Fallout?
If you’re wondering “What the hell is Fallout?” it’s a long-running video game franchise by Bethesda which takes place in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of a retro-futuristic version of late 21st century America. Each of the main games in the franchise focuses on a lone adventurer which can be customized by the player and their misadventures against irradiated humans (ghouls), mutated animals, mutants, and the most dangerous enemy in any post-apocalyptic series: humans.
The post-apocalyptic, sci-fi theme, makes for good material for a television adaptation. When you factor in that video games are rapidly becoming the new comic books when it comes to television and film adaptations, Amazon’s Fallout could be another in a growing number of hit series for Amazon Prime Video.
