It’s hard to imagine what modern professional wrestling would look like without Ring of Honor. It emerged in 2002 after ECW & WCW were taken out of the picture by WWE. It quickly became the place for up and coming wrestlers to make a name for themselves, alongside NWA off-shoot TNA Wrestling. Even now, some of the biggest names in the world like Seth Rollins, Hangman Page and Bryan Danielson all got started in ROH. Now after 20 years of making stars, Ring of Honor are ready to launch their very own Hall of Fame.
Ring of Honor Creating A Hall of Fame For Their 20th Anniversary
This was announced by Ring of Honor on their website. They had the following to say.
“To coincide with Ring of Honor’s 20th anniversary, the company is proud to announce the establishment of the ROH Hall of Fame.
Since its inception, ROH has created excellence in professional wrestling by giving the best wrestlers on the planet a platform to showcase their talent.
Now ROH will honor the outstanding athletes who have contributed greatly to making it one of the most influential pro wrestling promotions in the industry.
The first inductee in the inaugural ROH Hall of Fame class will be revealed this Monday. Subsequent inductees will be announced on Feb. 7, Feb. 14 and Feb. 21.
Also, each episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling in February will be devoted to a Hall of Fame inductee and there will be weekly YouTube specials on the inductees.”
Who Will The First Four Entrants Be>
When it comes to who will go in, it’s not hard to figure out who could be in the first class. Some of the biggest names in company history include the likes of The Briscoes, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, and Samoa Joe. These are names who defined the company in it’s early days – and all are perfect to be in the mix early on.
The Briscoes are expected to wrestle on the return show, and fans are hoping Samoa Joe returns to the ring there as well. CM Punk & Bryan Danielson both appeared at Final Battle: End of An Era, but through video messages. There is also a argument to be made for referee Todd Sinclair, who has been involved in many of their biggest matches and moments.
