Amale Winchester is a French wrestler who currently hold gold in the German promotion, WXW, and recently appeared on NXT UK as well. She was schedueled to be a part of the as of now, cancelled third edition of the Mae Young Classic as well. Things are clearly going well for her in this career, but it isn’t the only one she holds.
On weekends, Amale wrestles, but by week, she is a teacher at Belle-Assise elementary school in Clermont, Oise. Parents of students have discovered the “double life” their childrens teacher, and have found that her activity as a wrestler is not compatible with the teaching profession. Is there really an issue here, or is it a classic case of people blowing things out of proportion?
Amale Is One Of Many Who Wrestle While Holding Other Jobs
Wrestling isn’t as profitable as some might think, most wrestlers working second jobs while they follow their passions. A great example of his is AEW’s Britt Baker, who is also a registered dentist, and works that profession whenever she isn’t on the road with AEW. This also isn’t the first person to be a teacher or hold another role in a school while also wrestling. Until recently, NXT UK’s Eddie Dennis was a school principal. Other examples of wrestlers who were involved in the teaching industry include Matt Striker, Tim Storm, Muhammad Hassan, & Hangman Page.
Time Commitment Might Be The Main Issue
Both the teaching profession and wrestling are incredibly time consuming, and parents simply might not want their childrens education to be impacted if their teacher has to miss work frequently for her second job. If she started working regularly with NXT UK, she would begin losing more and more time for her students. If this is the main issue being raised, it’s incredibly understandable. But if their issue lies in them not approving of her second job as a wrestler, it is far from understandable.
Her passion for wrestling had not caused problems on his previous job. Last year, Amale was indeed a teacher at Auneuil kindergarten, also in the Oise. The school director had praised the quality of Amale contacts with the children. ” She’s very sweet with children, I’ve never seen her upset, she does not have one word higher than the other, so I still can not imagine her doing the bad thing … ” he explained when asked.
She clearly has passion for both her fields, and hopefully she is able to properly juggle both, and not have to give up either going forward. Her appearance on NXT UK showed great promise, and she is clearly a fantastic teacher. It’s an odd sitatation for sure, and one that might have a hard time getting heard outside of French publications, but we will do our best to keep you informed.
