It is Monday again, and we all have our feelings about Monday… after all, it’s the night of WWE Monday Night Raw! Tonight, Seth Rollins & Buddy Murphy defend their WWE Raw Tag Team Championships against the Street Profits in a Super Show-Down rematch! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to report on the show with the same full coverage you’ve come to expect! That means you’ll be getting the results from every segment of the show, plus links to recaps moments after they conclude! Not to mention full previews of everything that’s on tap this evening!
We have an usually stacked card tonight for a WWE TV show, atleast it feels that way to me. It’s not every day we come into Raw with four matches announced, among other things. And they all have potential to be really, really good ones as well! On paper, this looks like a great night of wrestling action, so let’s get into it!
WWE Raw Tag Team Championships: Seth Rollins & Buddy Murphy (c) vs. The Street Profits
As mentioned above, this is a rematch from one of the many bouts at WWE Super Show-Down. Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy initially won the Raw tag titles from the Viking Raiders in a bit of a surprise victory for many. Even now, it’s a little hard to tell where things are going for the Monday Night Messiah. He’s got plenty of enemies and still has yet to have a major singles match with Kevin Owens, the main protagonist of this story. But just how do the tag titles factor in?
One would really think that they’d have a title defense rematch against the Viking Raiders at some point before anything else, given that Erik and Ivar have been allies of Owens in this feud for quite some time. Until that’s said and done, it’s kinda hard to see them losing the tag titles. Street Profits may well be the next tag champs, I wouldn’t be shocked by that at all. But now really doesn’t seem like the time. I mean they really just started this feud last week with them making the save during a beatdown at the end of last week’s Raw. And this followed months of largely being kept out of the ring for mysterious reasons, they’ve hardly been primed for this as of now. I’m gonna say the champs retain here.
…Is what I said until at the last second it was announced that this a “Now Or Never” match, the Profits’ last shot at the titles, something I was not informed of earlier. So with that in mind, okay sure, Street Profits over.
