Who Should Be The First Challenger For New AEW Champion Jon Moxley?

Last night at AEW Revolution, Jon Moxley would defeat Chris Jericho in a brilliant brawl of a match. He would proudly open the floor for anyone to step up and challenge him for his newly won championship. With a stacked roster that gets better by the day, who are the likely options for a first opponent of Jon Moxley?

    Lance Archer

Soon AEW will be ravaged by The Murderhawk Monster, Lance Archer.  The 41 year old NJPW star officially signed with AEW a few weeks back, and many are anticipating his debut. His final match for New Japan Pro Wrestling was a Texas Deathmatch with Jon Moxley over the IWGP United States Championship. They brought wrestling violence to that match, and fans loved it. With Archer coming into AEW with a lot of hype behind him, a quick title program with Moxley concluding at the Blood & Guts special seems perfect for the next step in their rivalry.

    MJF

After the biggest win of his career over Cody at Revolution, we could see MJF demand a title shot. Moxley is willing to take on all comers, which would even include a brat like MJF. With plenty to tricks up his sleeve and Wardlow in his corner, MJF wouldn’t be someone to take lightly as a challenger. Moxley just defeated a more advanced version of MJF in Jericho however, so he might need to wait.

    PAC

The only blemish on the singles record of Jon Moxley in AEW is a time limit draw with The Bastard. While he has since beaten him and redeemed that draw, the blemish remains as proof that Moxley had difficulty putting PAC away. PAC was able to best the tenacious Orange Cassidy at Revolution, and took Kenny Omega to the limit in an ironman match recently. One or two big victories would put PAC as number one contender, and maybe the biggest threat to the newly minted reign of Moxley.

There are other possibilities like a rematch with Chris Jericho. We could see one half of the AEW Tag Team Champions Kenny Omega taking another shot at the AEW Championship. AEW are looking to remain fresh however, so we should expect someone who has never gotten a chance to challenge for the championship yet.

Who do you want to see face Jon Moxley for the AEW Championship? Let us know in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
