WWE Monday Night Raw continues. Asuka rushes up to Nia Jax and yells in her face. Nia just pretends she isn’t there and walks past her. Asuka attacks her, grabs her by the hair and throws her to the ground. Yells at her a bit and then walks away. Nia lays there in pain, probably thinking something along the lines of “Curses, foiled again”. Shayna Baszler then makes her way out for a Submission match with Natalya.
Submission Match: Natalya vs. Shayna Baszler
Lock-up, side headlock exchange, Shayna wins out, headlock takeover. Keeping her pinned down. Nattie fights her way, shoots her off, Shayna with a big shoulderblock. Shayna wants a camel clutch but Natalya counters it, tries for a Sharpshooter but Shayna transitions it directly into an Ankle Lock! Natalya has to kick her away, but she’s tending to that ankle now. Shayna with a kick to the gut, grabs a wrist and she’s twisting it now. Wrist lock in tight, Natalya trying to flip her way out of it but Shayna yanks her to the mat. Baszler stomps at the gut of Natalya and now she’s trying to hook in the Sharpshooter. Natalya rolls forward though and turns it into the proper Sharpshooter! Shayna trying to reach out but Nattie pulls her away.
Shayna grabs the ropes and pulls herself to the floor, Natalya with a baseball slide takes her down. Kick to the back, throws her into the ring. Rushes back inside, mounts her with forearms. Transitions very nicely into a kneebar! Nattie does know other submissions after all! But Baszler rolls her to her side, flips into the Kirifuda Clutch! Natalya trying to reach to the rope but Shayna hooks that arm with her leg. Natalya has no choice but to tap out!
Winner: Shayna Baszler
That was like, the first good match of the night actually. Humberto/Murphy would’ve been good if it weren’t so short and had a better ending. That one was just a solid wrestling match, always nice to see stuff like that. I especially like how Shayna was doing well with MMA holds but for a moment she tried doing a Pro Wrestling hold with the Sharpshooter and it almost cost her the match.
Afterwards, Natalya is despondent once more. Hilariously they start setting up the Kevin Owens show set on-screen, maybe the first time this kinda thing has ever been shown on camera and wouldn’t you know it, it’s because it’s relevant. Natalya is agitated by them rolling out the carpet and she throws another tantrum, messing up the set for the sheer sake of it. Backstage, Angel Garza and Austin Theory are yelling at each other again for reasons they don’t see fit to explain. Zelina stops them and demands they go out there as a cohesive unit.
