WWE Monday Night Raw continues. R-Truth is confronted by Akira Tozawa’s ninjas and he threatens them with a crane kick, they leave when Drew McIntyre appears. McIntyre begs R-Truth to take tonight seriously because they could lose everything. For once Truth seems to indeed get serious in response. We see replays of how Asuka’s last month has gone. Backstage Asuka cuts a promo saying Nia started this and she will finish it. Backstage again we see McIntyre and R-Truth again and Truth explains to Drew that he talked to management and confirmed that the only title on the line their tag team tonight is the WWE Championship. That makes sense to Truth. McIntyre is beyond exasperated. Truth demands that he trust him, he needs someone to trust him. BACKSTAGE AGAIN the Street Profits and Viking Raiders talk about what they’re gonna do next and the Raiders suggest a chariot race. Big Show appears and says don’t look at him, he can’t ride a horse.
They thank him for help with the ninjas. He thanks them for the merch. Says he enjoys this rivalry, but this series, he knows how to settle it. Ivar says carpool karaoke. “For the love of Beethoven, no carpool karaoke! EVER!”, maybe the most painfully scripted line of 2020. Show’s genius suggestion is… a Raw Tag Team title match between the two where the winner gets the titles and also wins the series. That is not only extraordinarily predictable but literally exactly what was supposed to last night anyway before a bunch of ninjas spawned into existence. Now it’s time for this goofy thing. This Raw has certainly set a tone where I could believe Lashley might pin truth to become WWE Champion so there’s that.
WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) & R-Truth vs. Bobby Lashley & MVP
Lashley and McIntyre start-out. Lock-up gives way to an exchange of blows, Drew with chops in the corner. Whip to the opposite corner but Lashley escapes with a clothesline but it only staggers Drew, Glasgow Kiss sends Lashley reeling! He wants to grab at him but he’s tied up in the ropes and the ref forces him away. Bobby Takes over, clobbers him in the heel corner. Charging shoulder thrust! MVP tags in and Drew makes a comeback but then R-Truth blind tags in! Drew is mortified as MVP nails him with a belly to belly! They send Truth to the outside, Lashley tags in and drives Truth into the barrier, McIntyre is terrified for his title reign right now! Commercial break.
Bobby is pummeling Truth as we come back, MVP tags in and hits the Playa’s Boot! Wants a charging bit boot in the center of the ring but Truth ducks it and hits a Lie Detector kick! Simultaneous tags to McIntyre and Lashley! McIntyre running wild, clotheslines, big overhead belly to belly, looking for a Future Shock DDT but Lashley blocks it with a back elbow, MVP tags in but McIntyre tosses Lashley with another belly to belly and MVP freezes on the apron! McIntyre takes him to the floor, slams him into the barrier, takes him into the ring and goes up top! Big flying clothesline and there’s the kip up! He wants him to rise, nails the Future Shock DDT! Lashley breaks up the pin! Truth comes in but gets deposited in a hurry. Bobby outside goes for a spear but a drop toe hold sends him int othe steps! But MVP rolls up McIntyre for a 1 count, McIntyre nails him with a sudden Claymore! He pins but raises at the 1 count and decides to tag in R-Truth! Rocket Launcher follows and Truth pins MVP.
Winners: R-Truth & Drew McIntyre
