The WWE has been having an interesting time lately with the releases for budget reasons that have incensed fans to contract issues, and it looks like Adam Cole will fall into the later category with a possible #AllElite in his future.
Granted, every time it’s announced a WWE wrestler is leaving the country a majority of us jump on the AEW bandwagon and proclaim that as their destination.
It’s become a habit, but this time there could be fire where there’s smoke.

Shorter than expected
As reported by Wrestlingnews.co, it looks like there’s been a SNAFU in the WWE concerning Cole’s contract.
It was believed that he was signed through December, but it’s been reported that the WWE realized their mistake as it was going to end after the Great American Bash.
He signed an extension that keeps him in the WWE through August, or shortly after SummerSlam.
This doesn’t mean he’s actually leaving as they could work out another deal, but his significant other, Britt Baker, is in AEW and it could be something he’s considering.
He was named PWI’s Wrestler of the Year in 2019 and it seemed the world was at his feet. Since then, he lost the NXT Championship and some fans are frustrated at his recent actions/booking.
Of course, there’s always more going on behind the scenes than we see, so things could be progressing for him and he could be fully content.
@WWENXT is main roster. No debate. End of story. https://t.co/HBiJCC6WXE

AEW looming
It’s been noted that he has friends in just about every wrestling promotion, and he’s been backstage at AEW events with Baker so that seems the most likely place for him to go.
While he’s been phenomenal in NXT, it’s easy to see him become another Hangman Adam Page in AEW as they’ll unleash him and he could get better booking there.
It’d definitely be an interesting move for him as he’s been with WWE NXT since 2017 and was/is seen as the future of the company, but with him being all on in NXT we don’t see him moving to the main roster.
In fact, he’s been adamant that NXT is the main roster and has voiced his opinion on NXT being the top brand numerous times.
What could help him decide could be the chance to work and travel with Baker and probably more money to help cement his future.
It’ll be interesting to see if he rides out his contract or signs another extension or long term deal.
