CM Punk is easily one of the biggest signings of AEW. This being mostly due to the fact that after seven years, a lot of people thought we might never see CM Punk wrestle again. But The Last Dance episode of Rampage saw the debut of CM Punk and still is the episode with the best viewership that has been on a steady decline since that day. We are seeing a lot of Cm Punk, but he has now commented on how it affected him.
What CM Punk had to say
Speaking with The Wrap, CM Punk had this to say
“Oh, I feel like trash, I’ll be honest. I’m 42 years old, and I haven’t taken bumps in seven-plus years. I think there’s something to building up a callus, to something you do on a regular basis becoming easier because you do it on a regular basis.
I think a lot of wrestlers are feeling this right now. The pandemic, when it shut everything down, and it essentially killed house-show business – they’re not on the road, they’re not taking bumps Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday ‘I think everybody kind of felt this awfulness of, ‘Oh man, I’m wrestling less-frequently than I used to, (but) it feels worse somehow’.”
CM Punk scheduled to face Matt Sydal
CM Punk has been scheduled to wrestle most weeks, saying he wants to wrestle. The next match is set for Rampage going up against Matt Sydal. It is very likely that this match will go up against Smackdown on this week’s Friday episode of Rampage. CM Punk is currently undefeated and is teasing a future match against Kenny Omega. It looks like there are no signs of stopping for CM Punk.
