The first episode of the new hit series is part of Disney Plus. The premiere of Loki had more views than both Wandavison and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. With it setting the scene and explaining a good amount of what is happening so we can understand what is to come.
We have now had Wandavison as a Romcom, the buddy cop kind of movie with Owen Wilson. Now we are getting the kind of detective series that seems to be inspired by Lucifer and Doctor Who. Now that we are on the second episode, it looks like it’s time to dive headfirst into the multiverse.
Time for things to heat up
Loki’s second episode compared to other series might have been the best. Rather than have another episode that explains a bit more of the world and not much in story progression happens. Instead, we got so much story progression that makes episode 3 a must-watch.
The episode made me feel like I was watching Loki as a detective, and that could annoy some people who love Loki as a badass trickster, but there are signs of something new happening in the season. The pacing of the episode and an outlandish Loki works a lot better in this episode.
Summary
The second episode of Loki sets the stage for the rest of the series. It weirdly makes me want to see a lot more of the series. Marvel’s step into another genre of TV shows is going very well. The character of Loki going back to kind of a villain but also turning into the kind of Anti Hero we see in the film.
However, the hidden emotion through the episode is showing off Loki’s character and how these variants will affect the future of the Marvel Universe.
Rating – 8.8
