WWE SmackDown commentator and former NWA commentator Wade Barrett mentioned former two-time NWA World Champion Nick Aldis as a potentially prime pick for the Connecticut-based company.
Wade Barrett Boosts Former NWA World Champion Nick Aldis as a Potential Big Pick for WWE
Remember, Wade Barrett was in the NWA at the same time as Nick Aldis’ dominant period in the company. He would be very familiar with Aldis at his present best but believes that the newly-minted free agent would be a good fit for WWE.
In speaking with Metro, Barrett said of his former co-worker’s chances in WWE:
“He’s a guy I’ve got a lot of respect for. I think he’ll have success whatever he ends up doing, whether it’s on the independents, whether it’s going back to NWA, or to any other company – or hopefully one day, come over to WWE. I think he’s got a lot he can contribute. In terms of supporters, I’m certainly on board as a supporter of Nick Aldis one day coming to WWE.”
Currently, Aldis is looking for a big stage to showcase his talents in-ring and the mic. While the biggest stages in town are WWE, New Japan, and AEW, maybe a return to IMPACT Wrestling could be in the cards with his wife Mickie James being the Knockouts World champion. Why not get the IMPACT World title on the man again.
However, Nick Aldis is looking for bigger game so where do you see him going: WWE, AEW, or New Japan? Let us know in the comments!
