As we enter 2020, we enter another year of the dealings between WWE & The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia. We will see the next event from this partnership on February 20th. Once the Royal Rumble has passed on the schedule, we will see WWE begin to focus on building another major show akin to Crown Jewel & The Greatest Royal Rumble. Here are a few things we could see announced for the show.
Could This Be Why Brock Lesnar Is Not Defending His Championship At Royal Rumble?
A few weeks back, Brock Lesnar was confirmed to be entering the Royal Rumble as WWE Champion, instead of defending his championship at the event. It is very possible this could be because they are saving that first WWE Championship match of the decade for one of their huge Saudi Arabia events. It’s unclear who he might defend against. There has been rumblings of a match between Brock Lesnar & Tyson Fury, and maybe this will be the day we see that. Tyson Fury faced Braun Strowman at the previous event, while Brock Lesnar faced Cain Velasquez. Both matches received mix reviews at best.
The Final Chapter For Roman Reigns & King Corbin?
The feud between Roman Reigns & Baron Corbin has been nearing it’s conclusion for a while, and it would be exactly the type of big match we have seen in the past at these events. It’s unclear of the Saudi Royal Family would want someone walking around claiming to be a king however, so we could see it as just Roman Reigns vs. Baron Corbin. Another possibility would be Roman teaming with the returning Usos to face Corbin, Ziggler & Roode if this will just be another stop along the way to final chapter.
Another Womens Match In Saudi Arabia
At the last Crown Jewel event, we saw Natalya & Lacey Evans make history by having the first televised womens wrestling match in Saudi Arabia. With that ground broken, it’s likely we will see increased involvement from the women of WWE on these events going forward. We will almost certainly see another match of this kind at this upcoming event, maybe even for the RAW or Smackdown Womens Championships.
