Ladies and gentlemen, Monday Night Raw just got underway and already we’ve found ourselves with a surprising little change. Randy Orton and AJ Styles were set to have another one on one clash here tonight, another chapter in their feud. But Drew McIntyre had other ideas it seems. I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer, here to give you the live recap and results of tonight’s show!
He interrupted Randy Orton and AJ Styles’ show-opening promo battle to insert himself! The three of them all made it clear that they intend to win the Royal Rumble in a few weeks’ time. They’re all varying degrees of favorites to be fair. But Drew decided instead of talking about it, the three of them should have a triple threat match instead!
As is the rule of law, this was immediately accepted – AJ Styles, Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre are now currently battling in a three way bout!
This makes for quite the opener to Raw, impromptu at that! Randy Orton and AJ Styles have undoubtedly been enemies for quite some time now. Their feud began with Orton screwing AJ out of the WWE United States Championship after the OC had drawn his ire earlier. AJ had seemingly injured Orton’s knee, something he made use of to feign a retirement only to catch AJ with a sneaky RKO.
Drew McIntyre, for his part, is coming off the heels of a shadow babyface turn that already seems to be connecting pretty well. He’s been a pretty fun asskicker of late, it’s quite nice! And he’s legitimately someone a lot of people have been talking about winning the Rumble. McIntyre has been an obvious pick for future world champ for quite a while now, really since he was signed to NXT if we’re being totally honest here.
