It is Monday Night once again everyone, and we all know how the world feels about Mondays… which is based entirely around WWE Raw! Tonight, Drew McIntyre will be appearing as a guest on a special edition of the VIP Lounge, hosted by MVP! Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give you the full coverage of tonight’s show! That includes a live recap and results for every segment moments after they conclude! Plus, a preview of everything to expect here tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw! So let’s get to it!
Drew McIntyre to appear on MVP’s VIP Lounge
Yes, after MVP’s match against Rey Mysterio, many were wondering when – or if – we would ever see him again in WWE. He later stated that this was his last match with WWE and he was prepared to offer his talents backstage, in his own words. This would lead many to believe that a producer or training role of some sort was in his future. But now, with very little warning, it’s been announced that he will instead be hosting his old talk show, the VIP Lounge again with Drew McIntyre as his first guest.
I suppose there was a vacancy in the Raw talk show department. The Miz and Alexa Bliss are both on SmackDown, Kevin Owens ain’t really the same guy who started the Kevin Owens Show anymore, Corey Graves’ electric chair thing didn’t last long enough for me to remember it’s name, and Edge probably won’t be in good enough shape to host the Cutting Edge anytime soon… so yeah, VIP Lounge it is. It works, but I have to say, it feels kind of spur-of-the-moment, doesn’t it? They did like the bare minimum to reintroduce MVP as a character so they could do this.
Anyway, 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble Winner Drew McIntyre is a pretty sensible first guest. His match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania is looming large for certain, so it should make for an easy thing to get some headlines out of. The odds of Lesnar, and perhaps even Super Show-Down challenger Ricochet making their presence known on this night seem all too likely. Whether this is a one-time thing or a soon-to-be reoccurring feature is, I’m sure, still yet to be determined. But we’ll see how it goes here tonight.
