WWE Survivor Series 2019 is still ongoing and we’ve seen an early match of the night contender in that last bout. A thrilling triple threat match pitting the secondary champs – for lack of a better word – of each brand against one another. NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong vs. WWE United States Champion AJ Styles vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in a non-title Raw vs. SmackDown vs. NXT match.
To those in the know, it’s no shock that this was a great one. Roderick Strong, after 19 years in the business, finally made his official main roster debut, not counting enhancement spots or 205 Live matches. And he made the most of it with an incredible performance. And it’s a good thing he did, because he ended up getting a somewhat surprising victory out of it, one that was very much earned!
Roderick Strong Defeats Shinsuke Nakamura & AJ Styles At WWE Survivor Series 2019
This legitimately has to be among the biggest victories of the veteran’s lengthy career, a real big stage highlight. It’s also quite the nod for the NXT North American Championship itself, theoretically putting it above the likes of the US and IC titles. Albeit, Roderick Strong ultimately got the win after AJ hit the Phenomenal Forearm on Shinsuke Nakamura, and Roddy simply dispatched of AJ and pinned Nak. Nontheless, a great match and a great win. Let’s see if that’ll be topped!
