We seem to be back to the norm where there’s not a ton to talk about… but that’s fine. Whatever there is, I’ll be here to tell you all about it!
Roman Reigns & The Usos vs. King Corbin, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode
Big six-man tag action here, a very likely main event for the evening. Roman Reigns and King Corbin have of course been feuding for many a month at this point. It stems back from when the two of them were bickering over who should be the captain of Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. Roman was meant to be the locker room leader but Corbin spread doubts about this and got Ziggler and Roode to back him up.
This element has largely been dropped by now though and is more just a personal hatred between the two. More relevant than anything is that Roman Reigns’ nickname is the Big Dog and King Corbin finds that hilarious. This led to humiliation after humiliation, and group beating after group beating until finally the Usos came in to back him up. Jimmy and Jey defeated Corbin’s other goons The Revival, and now look to neutralize Roode and Ziggler as well.
With the blowoff match of this feud seemingly finally taking place this weekend, this was really the last opportunity to do this trios match and it was a requirement. So we’re getting it here as the final preview for that bout. In all honesty, I kind of expect a bit of a non-finish here, some kinda double DQ or countout that ends in a big brawl. Maybe it could even cue everyone else in the back to join in for the annual massive roster-wide fight that leads in to the Rumble. But if I had to pick a winner, I’d say King Corbin and crew pick up the duke.
