The Royal Rumble is tonight, and now… the mini-series finally ends. We look at the actual most likely man to win the whole dang thing. I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer, and we now get on to the odds-on favorite, for good reason. I mean, you had to expect it, right? Yep, it’s Roman Reigns!

How 2019 Went For Roman Reigns:
Well, for starters, he beat leukemia. So that was a hell of a win.
After several months off for that scare, he managed to come back in time to team with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins at Fastlane 2019, an emotional occasion to be sure. We would then see the final months of the Shield take place, atleast for the foreseeable future. Amidst this, Drew McIntyre took particular issue with Roman. Reigns ended up having his first one-on-one match back from his recovery with McIntyre at WrestleMania, in a winning effort of course.
After the Shield’s final chapter wrapped up, he went on to a brief feud with Elias that pretty much culminated with his ten second victory over him at Money In The Bank. He then took that momentum into a feud with Shane McMahon, who also brought McIntyre back into his life. He took an L to Shane McMahon at Super Showdown and beat McIntyre again at Stomping Grounds – because of course that’s how it would go down – before teaming with the Undertaker to defeat the both of them at Extreme Rules.
Then, came the mystery angle where somebody was trying to kill Roman Reigns through bizarre means. After a lengthy rigmarole, it turned out to be Erick Rowan for some reason. Reigns had a feud with Rowan for a while, which culminated in Reigns teaming with Bryan to defeat Rowan and Luke Harper. Roman then closed out the year with a feud with King Corbin, which is still ongoing now.
Where does that leave his chances?
He’s uh… I mean, he’s Roman Reigns. If he’s not a world champion at the time that Royal Rumble comes around, he’s going to be a favorite to win it. That’s just common sense. And this year, he’s widely accepted as the favorite to win the whole thing, because frankly, who else is there? The field is wide open this year, as there really isn’t a bigger favorite emerging. So basically we go to the default of Reigns. All things being equal, he’s always gonna be the safest bet. This year is certainly no exception.
What would his story be?
Roman Reigns has yet to come into any sort of contact with the Fiend. That’s mighty suspicious, you gotta admit. I feel like chances are pretty good that Roman gets the Rumble win and goes on to slay the monster at WrestleMania. Someone’s gonna be the hero, might as well be the guy with the Superman Punch.
