Okay, with the WWE’s Saudi Arabia pay-per-view coming up, it’s time to dust off some of the retired and injured legends and put them in the ring and hope nothing bad happens.
Stinger coming back?
Some of the latest news to come out is Vince McMahon is reportedly working on trying to bring Sting back for one more match. Sting (60 years old) retired four years ago following a neck injury he suffered while with the WWE and said there would be no more matches in his future.
Of course, Sting has also said he wishes he’d faced the Undertaker during the height of their careers, so it’s probably McMahon is dangling that carrot in front of Sting to help convince him to come back.
Like Goldberg and Undertaker, this is a dream match fans would love to see. Also, like Goldberg and Undertaker, it should’ve happen fifteen to twenty years ago.
Granted, not everything works out the way we’d like them to, and this is another one.
If it happens, hopefully it goes better than the Undertaker (54 years old, by the way) and Goldberg match was.
Speaking of Goldberg
Goldberg has recently come out and said he wants to wrestle Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman.
Paul Heyman is big on Goldberg appearing once or twice a year in a marquee match. It sounds reasonable, as Goldberg can still move around pretty good and do his moves. As long as he doesn’t suffer a lot of blood loss or knock himself silly like against the Undertaker.
When asked about it, Goldberg said to Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, “God who wouldn’t I like to face that I haven’t? I mean, Roman and Braun are two guys that I would like to test their mettle a little bit. Georgia (Goldberg) against Georgia Tech (Reigns) – it’s kind of a built-in rivalry.”
Either Goldberg (52 years old, in case anyone was wondering) against Reigns or Strowman seems tailor made for Crown Jewel, but will it happen?

Known Matches
There are a pair of matches that are virtually set in stone.
Those are Tyson Fury facing Braun Strowman, and Cain Velasquez facing Brock Lesnar.
While neither of these are surprises given the recent storylines, it’s a question as to whether they can deliver.
The biggest question is Cain Velasquez, who wore a nice, big knee brace during his appearance on Smackdown. It’s from an old knee injury that’s been rumored to need surgery sooner or later. If it’s sooner, it could cost WWE’s newest signee to miss six to nine months, including WrestleMania since it’s expected he and Lesnar are going to be feuding through then. If he’s gutted it out so far, then the surgery may wait until after WrestleMania.
Of course, the injury could be nothing to worry about as it’s already been taken care of, and the knee brace is just for added support.
Either way, Crown Jewel could be an interesting card depending how things shake out.
