Okay, so rumors have it that Vince McMahon has big plans for Keith Lee. This is no surprise for a couple of reasons.
He’s got talent. Like we didn’t know this, right?
The first is Keith Lee is a tremendous talent and he’d bring a solid following to whichever WWE main brand he lands on. He’s borderline dominant at times, and his crooked smile when another big man enters the ring is scary at best.
His body language makes it easy to see he loves to compete, and the bigger challenge the better. Who knows, he could be the answer to fans’ dreams of ending Brock Lesnar’s multiple title runs.
He’d get to face off with other big boys
The second reason is that who wouldn’t want to see Keith Lee face off with Drew McIntyre or Braun Srowman? Both were teased last night, but it’s hard to really get a feel for it when so many bodies are flying around, which is the hectic nature of a triple threat match.
The fact he was the lone survivor is impressive, especially when NXT winning overall was a foregone conclusion to many since it’d help cement them as a powerhouse to boost their Wednesday Night Ratings. The risk of it hurting the main brands is real, but limited if McMahon pulls talent from the developmental (yet far superior) brand and put them on the main ones.
This goes back to the first point where Keith Lee would bring a following with him that would tune in just to see him in action. And if his appearances are sprinkled throughout, it’ll help Raw or Smackdown’s overall ratings. Kinda cool, huh?
The third is as old as Vince himself.
Vince likes the big boys
This is something we all know, especially for those of us that became fans back in the 1980s when McMahon brought in practically every body builder he could find.
We were treated to awesome physiques by Hulk Hogan, the Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, Rick Rude, Hercules Hernandez, and Dino Bravo to name a few.
Going beyond the great physiques, we had Andre the Giant, Adrian Adonis, King Kong Bundy, Hakeem or One Man Gang, Vader, Bam Bam Bigelow, and so on.
His tastes range, there is one common denominator and that’s size. If brings up the idea that he may believe anyone can be taught to be a professional wrestler. Tommy McGee, anyone?
According to RingsideNews.com, McMahon has big plans for Keith Lee, including a probable title shot shortly after debuting on Raw or Smackdown in a few months.
One this is for sure, Keith Lee opened a lot of eyes at Survivor Series, and his future is looking bright.
