On this past episode of Monday Night RAW, we saw Ricochet step up to The Beast Incarnate himself, showing no fear. He would take a cowardly low blow from Brock Lesnar. However it will take more than that to stop the former United States Champion. With the Royal Rumble coming up, and both men inside the match, will this be more than a throwaway RAW moment?
Could Ricochet Be The One To Eliminate Brock Lesnar?
From the moment he joined WWE as part of the NXT brand, it was clear that Ricochet was a star. With his good looks, past achievements and unbelievable high flying ability, he is a very easy favorite for many fans. He has already been NXT North American Champion and WWE United States Champion. There is very little ceiling when it comes to someone as naturally gifted as Ricochet. He might have not received the best time on the RAW roster so far, but having him stand up to Brock Lesnar could be a signal that 2020 could be huge for him.
With Brock Lesnar starting the Royal Rumble this Sunday, it’s unlikely he will win. It is very possible that whoever eliminates him is set for a short title program to bridge the gap to Wrestlemania for Brock Lesnar. With Ricochet having shown no fear, he could very well be the man to complete the task of shocking Lesnar.
Brock Lesnar Works Best With Agile Opponents
If this match happens, it will go one of two ways. Ricochet could be defeated in a matter of seconds much like Kofi Kingston, or it will end up being something like the matches Lesnar has had with people like AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan & Finn Balor. Brock is a very hit or miss wrestler, but if he will have a competitive match with Ricochet, it would skyrocket Ricochet’s spot in the company. It will be an easy way to make a star, if WWE is willing to do it.
WWE has failed to make stars out of easy targets in the past. We just need to hope that they don’t miss their chance with Ricochet. A match with him & Brock would be a great way to fill a spot on the Road To Wrestlemania as Brock gets ready for his true opponent for Wrestlemania.
