We are less than six months away from WrestleMania 36. Even though it’s still technically still nearly half a year, it feels a lot closer than that, doesn’t it? Once we hit January and the build to the Rumble commences, we’ll officially be in WrestleMania Season™.
Now, we know some details about the schedule – which with the changes WWE have made this year, was up in the air – and some handy things to know if you’re planning on being there for the show live in Tampa Bay, Florida.
First of all, general tickets for the Show of Shows (a nickname that I swear is exclusively used on their website, never hear it spoken…) goes on sale November 15th. Travel packages will be available starting November 5th. Ticket prices go from as low as $35 to as high as $1000. There’s an offer being made that they’re calling Gold Circle VIP Packages, priced from $2000 to $2500. Per their press release; “The Gold Circle packages include seating in the first nine rows ringside, access to a Gold Circle VIP Stadium Entrance and a commemorative WrestleMania take-home folding chair.”
The travel packages bundle WrestleMania tickets with tickets to their other shows from that week, in addition to meet and greets with members of the WWE roster.
Speaking of those other shows, here’s the quick rundown of the WrestleMania Week schedule:
The WWE Hall Of Fame is now officially set to take place on April 2nd at the Amalie Arena in Tampa. This will be the first time the event has taken place on a Thursday. Many were wondering about that, given that usually the Hall of Fame is held on a Friday, where SmackDown is now taking place.
Friday Night SmackDown is the night after, obviously, and will surely be in that same area. NXT TakeOver: Tampa will be taking place that Saturday, and while I’m not sure they’ve listed a venue for it yet, traditionally TakeOver is held in the same arena that the Hall of Fame takes place in. The Amalie Arena’s capacity is listed around 20,000 so it’s certainly big enough.
WrestleMania 36 itself is coming out of Raymond James Stadium, the home stadium of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The capacity for that building with special seating is listed as 75,000 so expect WWE to claim an attendance of something like 81,432 people. For entertainment purposes, in Vince McMahon’s own words.
With Raw of course coming the night after, this leaves Tuesday as the only day in an entire week’s span to not have some kind of WWE event… for now. Honestly, I do expect them to slot something in there, just for completeness’ sake. I mean if you get that close, why not?
WrestleMania Week has truly become a monster that cannot be stopped.
As always, you can expect plenty of high level indy shows in the vicinity of the Granddaddy Of ‘Em All. Whatever city Mania visits tends to just become a wrestling hotbed for a week or so.
WrestleMania Axxess, the long-standing WWE convention of sorts, will be going from April 2nd to April 6th.
