Jordan Devlin became more than ‘The Irish Ace’, because at Worlds Collide he became The Crusierweight Ace after winning the excellent Fatal Four Way to get his first taste of WWE gold. This came at the expense of Angel Garza, who he didn’t even pin to win the championship. It is only a matter of time before Devlin needs to face the former champion in singles action, but he can’t focus on Garza just yet. He would make his NXT TV debut, as he faced Tyler Breeze in a non-title match.
Jordan Devlin Defeats Tyler Breeze
Tyler Breeze is a wayward soul these days. Having returned to NXT around the middle of 2019, he would seemingly be set to compete in the tag team division with Fandango, but his partner getting injured has forced him back into a singles role. Breeze was one of the men who defined NXT as a brand in it’s earlier days, and this match was his way of showing people that he never lost his step. In one of the best matches WWE has had so far this year, Devlin & Breeze gave each other everything the other could handle. It was experience vs. momentum, with the brash Devlin being out-wrestled by Breeze at many parts of the match. He would have to up his intensity and take any opening he could find, eventually knocking Breeze off after a 12 minute war.
Devlin Is Proven To Be A Star
This match proved that Devlin is the real deal, and that once Garza comes knocking for a shot at the title he was never beaten for, he will be ready. That impending match will be one that no fan can miss, and that has been familiar territory for Devlin. He has been a showstealer on NXT UK, and he caught the eyes of Shawn Micheals during his time there. 2020 will be the year of Devlin, as he looks to become a fixture across all WWE programming. If he is able to have matches like this on a weekly basis, he will be a fan favorite in no time. He could potentially become one of the most popular in all of WWE.
