Just over two years ago, we saw the final TV appearance of Jason Jordan. The former member of American Alpha was on his way to being a major star for WWE, before a neck injury placed him in a backstage role. His final storyline was being revealed as the son of Kurt Angle, and he was settling into a fantastic character of being a cocky child who runs to his dad (who was the general manager) to get chances to get ahead of others. He had the wrestling ability down path, and was getting used to playing a character. We don’t know what could have came next, but many sources indicate that he was to become RAW General Manager, a role that was given to Baron Corbin.
If Edge Can Return, There Is Hope For Jason Jordan
Edge was put into retirement in 2011 due to neck injuries very similar to Jason Jordan. With how much more wear and tear was on Edge, and the age difference of about 15 years, it shows hope for Jason Jordan. Medical advancements are making things once felt impossible more feasible, and this includes seeing someone like Jordan make this way back to the ring.
He has been keeping busy in a backstage role as a producer, but someone with as much raw talent and potential as him belongs on screen. Many believe that had he not been injured, he would have been at a main event champion level at this point, being the new generations Kurt Angle. If nothing else, they would have reunited American Alpha, and we could have been spared whatever Shorty G is.
An American Alpha Reunion Would Be The Ideal Return
One of the most underrated tag teams in WWE history is American Alpha. The speed of Chad Gable along with the power of Jason Jordan, combined with the amateur wrestling pedigree both possessed made them a terrifying duo. They drew many comparisons to The Steiner Brothers. If Jason Jordan could return, being placed in a tag team would be a great way to work off any ring rust and ensure he is sturdy once again. Chad Gable would often take most of the abuse in their matches, with Jordan serving as the hot tag who would come in and clear out anything still moving. It would help clear doubts of his injuries, and allow WWE another top level tag team.
