Brock Lesnar is living the good life in WWE right now. He is WWE Champion, and only works a handful of high profile matches each year. You won’t see him wrestle meaningless matches on TV, he isn’t working house shows, the most you see him do most time is bounce around as Paul Heyman cuts his promos for him. Many fans resent him due to this, feeling harder working individuals should have the role that Brock has. His status has built an aura around him, with any match he has being a big deal as you don’t see them often. However his current dealings with WWE are set to expire later this year, reportedly in May or June.
Will Brock Lesnar Use AEW As Leverage?
With how much WWE relies on Brock Lesnar, he is someone they don’t want to lose. This is how he has gotten such a favorable deal with the company, he has played the business side of wrestling better than anyone before him. He has always kept leverage in the form of his dealings with UFC, where is a former world champion. Having retired from mixed martial arts, he will need something new. Thankfully for him, there is another wrestling promotion in town with big money backing it. This is All Elite Wrestling. With how big of a draw Brock Lesnar is, they could offer him a contract to have him come over to their promotion. Even if they don’t, the fact they could is enough for Brock. I’m not sure what else WWE can offer him besides more money, but he will find a way.
Nothing Can Stop Brock If He Decides To Not Rejoin WWE
While nowadays it is hard to imagine Brock Lesnar going anywhere but WWE, but back in 2004 he reportedly turned down a 36.5 million dollar contract to go try out for the NFL. He would not return to the company until 2012. The deal would have been for 7 years. Brock was going to be their next mega star, and they opened up their bank account to him but he declined. NFL didn’t work out, but he would join the UFC and become Heavyweight Champion, then upon his return to WWE he’d make up for all that lost money in no time.
