It’s the one night of the year where WWE goes extreme! Atleast, that’s what the tagline always says…yes, it’s time for WWE Extreme Rules once again. Here you’ll be able to find live results and recaps, provided to you by The Overtimer! I’m Jordan Huie and I’ll be your host tonight.

Are you curious about the show, but don’t have the time to watch it live? We’ve got your back! Stick with this page here for up-to-the-minute results for every single match on the card! Yes, all twelve of them… and I’ll be honest. I don’t think that main event has enough stips. I mean, just look at it down there at the bottom of the card listing! It’s ridiculous… but it can definitely be more ridiculous. Surely we can make it a 2-Out-3-Falls WWE Extreme Rules Winner Take All Last Chance Mixed Tornado Elimination Tag Team Match for the Universal and Raw Women’s Championships! I think that’d look great on a marquee, personally…

WWE Extreme Rules begins it’s pre-show at 6 PM ET, with the main card going ahead an hour later.

Kickoff is underway, still waiting on our opening contest. Shinsuke out now for his IC title shot.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Finn Balor (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Finn gets the early advantage, pulling Nak’s shirt open so as to strike his chest. He tosses him outside and hits a tope, before throwing him from barricade to barricade. Nak takes the advantage briefly once the action returns to the ring, but Finn retakes it in a hurry, in time for  WWE Extreme Rules commercial helpfully interjecting to let me know that main card of the pre-show I’m watching is up next on the Network that I’m watching, cool. Anyway Shinsuke gets back into and hits Taiji Ishimori’s running German Suplex off the ropes. Sets up for the Kinshasha, but Finn leaps up for a double foot stomp to take him down. Hesitation Dropkick leads to a Cou De Gras… but Shinsuke rolls out of the way! Running knee to the back of the head, leads to a Kinshasha! Shinsuke covers… and we have a new Intercontinental Champion.

    Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

Neat match for the spot that it had. Why you’d have the IC title change hands on the pre-show I can’t really tell you. But Shinsuke joins Chris Jericho as the only two men to hold both WWE and New Japan’s Intercontinental Championships. And that’s a really, really appropriate stat if you ask me.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Drew Gulak (c) vs. Tony Nese

15 minutes out from the main card, this bout commences. Nese gets the early lead advantage, taunting after clotheslining him over the top rope and getting some boos. Philly is Gulak’s hometown so he’s got the support here. And another ad to let us know that WWE Extreme Rules follows the WWE Extreme Rules Kickoff Show. Nese fights out of a hold during the break and German Suplexes Gulak into the corner. Attempt at a Running Nese gets stopped by an elbow. Gulak forces Nese out to the apron but a forearm stuns him. A middle-rope moonsault follows, hitting Gulak as he hung from the ropes!

450 Splash from Nese gets a nearfall. Strikefest starts up soon after, with both trading punches and chops. Mat wrestling breaks out, ending with Gulak getting Nese with a high angle powerbomb! Cyclone Crash follows shortly after, and Gulak gets the pin.

    Winner: Drew Gulak

Same old story, Cruisers having a really good match that will be entirely overlooked due to it’s position.

After this, the panel claims that Taker and Roman’s match with Shane and Drew is actually opening the main card? Suppose we’ll see.

Opening vignettes are done and yep we’re going into the No Holds Barred match. Wonder how many PPVs The Undertaker has opened…? Or Roman Reigns for that matter.

No Holds Barred: Roman Reigns & The Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre

Big pop the moment Roman’s music goes off as anticipation builds for Undertaker’s entrance. Gong, lights go out, blue smoke goes up… and ever so slowly out comes the Deadman. Drew gets advantage on Roman, drags him over to the corner to tag Shane. Shane beats him down with extremely unconvincing punches until Roman escapes to his corner and it’s happening. Once again, The Undertaker and Shane McMahon squaring off. Can The Undertaker vanquish the Best In The World?! His greatest challenge yet?!

Taker catches him with a lengthy flurry of his own, Shane can’t really answer. Undertaker goes up for Old School and hits it to a very generous “You’ve Still Got It” chant. Shane tags out, Taker and McIntyre with a staredown. Brawl ensues, Drew clotheslines Taker to the floor and he can still land on his feet out there by God. Taker drags him onto the apron for a VINTAGE UNDERTAKER leg drop. Taker tags back out to Roman, Shane tries to interfere but Taker scares him off and he runs all the way up the ramp before he stops, earning a “Shane’s A Pussy” chant, that’s an oldie.

Drew got the advantage back on Roman during that distraction and now him and Shane are making quick tags to double team him. Only weapon usage so far is a big toss into the steps incidentally. Roman eventually manages the hot tag to Undertaker who comes in like a house of embers. He knocks everyone to the outside then eyes the announce table. Strips it clean to make sure nobody gets hurt on it, then goes for the Last Ride… for a long time, until Elias comes out from the crowd to hit Taker over the back with a guitar. Roman intercepts but Drew gets him with a Claymore. Taker grabs Elias by the throat, but gets a Claymore of his own.

Elias and Drew lay Taker out on the table, Shane goes up… elbow drop from the top rope through the table! Elias and Drew slowly drag Taker on the inside, and over to the corner. Shane gets a trash can, and they’re setting up Coast to Coast. A chant of “Wake Up, Roman” is ignored as Shane mocks the throatslit before nailing Coast to Coast. Only after this does Roman exist again, but Drew cuts him off with a legsweep to the floor. Shane drags Taker to the middle… but Taker sits up.

Chokeslam to Shane. Chokeslam to Elias. Taker with a throatslit of his own… as McIntyre slinks in behind him. He runs up for a Claymore… but Roman gets him with a spear outta nowhere. Roman tosses Shane to Taker, who gets him with a Tombstone for the victory.

Winners: The Undertaker & Roman Reigns

Better than expected. Miles ahead of Super Show-Down certainly, though it was always going to be. Afterwards, Taker and Roman have a bit of a staredown, and Taker gives him a pat on the chest. Yet another torch passing segment.

That opener took up about 40 minutes and we have nine matches left. It’s gonna be a long one, y’all.

Sarah Schreiber backstage with Seth and Becky, who talk about seeing landmarks in Philly. Seth compares the crack in the liberty bell to the crack he’s gonna put in Baron Corbin’s head tonight. Becky asks what a statue of Lacey Evans would look like, and espouses that it would likely be like Lacey herself, covered in pigeon crap. Yet another huge win for scripted promos! (My saying that was just part of the script…)

Anyway, hey, Raw’s tag titles made the main card!

RAW Tag Team Championships: The Revival (c) vs. The Usos

Usos have a little promo before their match, typical Uso Penitentiary stuff. I’ve heard good stuff about these teams’ Raw matches so we’ll see if they get to show that off here. Usos knock Revival outside, Stereo Suicide Dive attempt cut off with elbows. But they get them over to the opposite side and hit the dives that way instead. Revival lie in wait on the outside and tag Jey on the floor. Jey beats the count at 8. Revival then give ’em the top guy treatment, isolating Jey and cutting off the ring, as per their mastery.

Jey fights to escape, getting blows to both men and hitting a back suplex. Wilder goes to fight Jimmy on the apron, Jimmy takes him down and Jey gets over to tag him. But the ref doesn’t see it due to tending to Wilder, and as Jimmy tries to argue his point, Dash and Dawson brutalized Jey in the corner. A chant of “Ref You Suck” breaks out as Jey remains in peril. Dawson brings Jey to the top rope, Jey fights back, a punch sends Dawson to the mat as Jey drops to the floor. Dawson makes the tag to Wilder, but it gives Jey time to come back in and run by to get the tag to Jimmy for real this time.

Jimmy comes in and knocks both members of the Revival to seated positions in the corner. He wants to get them both with the running hip attack ala Umaga, gets Dawson but Dash is up in time and plants him with a Sitout Powerbomb for a nearfall. Tag to Dawson and Jimmy manages to tag back out too, double team Samoan Drop gets a 2 count. Dawson with a brainbuster for another nearfall. Jey is taken up to the top rope as Wilder tags in, Dawson gets a superplex and Wilder immediately follows up with a splash. Pin is broken up by Jimmy coming in with a splash of his own!

Attempt at a Double Dive cut off when one Uce gets pulled to the floor. Tornado DDT attempt but the Revival get a tag in during an escape in fluid motion. Shatter Machine follows, for the retain.

    Winners: The Revival

That was actually pretty much what a classic Revival match used to be like, except in front of an extremely dead crowd. They kinda hinge on being hated heels, and it’s a little hard to hate someone when they’ve been thoroughly buried.

And now, the door finally gets opened…

    Aleister Black vs. Cesaro

Cesaro comes out to new epic music. Black’s creaky door sound effect has been replaced with a creaking drawbridge. It’s an improvement I guess. This could honestly be a banging fight, let’s see how it goes…

Black with an immediate Black Mass attempt, Cesaro narrowly ducks it. Cesaro with a Back Suplex and also goes for an early finish with the Neutralizer. Black with a back body drop to counter but Cesaro lands on his feet, then goes down to sit crosslegged just like Black to mock him. Brawl sends Cesaro to the outside, Triangle Moonsault to the floor lays out Cesaro! Back in the ring, Black with a top rope meteora following by a vicious roundhouse kick for a 2 count. Another Black Mass tease but Cesaro escapes it. Black tries to set up his springboard moonsault, but Cesaro catches him and dumps him to the floor.

Cesaro with a big springboard uppercut! Deadlift Gutwrench follows. Cesaro is still a great singles wrestler, in case you needed the reminder. Black with some upkicks from the floor, but Cesaro continues on the onslaught with a double foot stomp. Gets an armbar on to grind him down. Black escapes and nails the Springboard Moonsault this time! More wicked roundhouse kicks follow but Cesaro answers with an uppercut. Black tries for the meteora again but Cesaro catches him… barely but he’s so damn strong he can keep him up! Tosses him into the air for the VERY European Uppercut, for a nearfall!

This is easily the most quiet Philly crowd I’ve ever heard but I’m loving the match anyway. Cesaro tries for another Springboard Uppercut but gets caught with a V-Trigger style knee lift out of the air! Cesaro attempts another Very European but can’t get him up due to the damage from a multitude of leg kicks. Aleister rolls Cesaro onto the mat for a single leg grapevine on the bum leg. Cesaro counters into a crab, then transitions into a Crossface. Black rolls through for a cover attempt, Cesaro escapes, Black with a big boot and the both fall to the mat. This would get a Standing O in front of most crowds. A quiet “This Is Awesome” does start to build eventually though.

Slugfest starts leading to uppercut after uppercut from Cesaro. Black escapes, gets him with a couple setup kicks and then lands Black Mass for the pin!

    Winner: Aleister Black

Easily among the greatest Empty Arena matches of all time. These people clearly had no clue who Black was but as long as he keeps getting to have matches like that, he’ll get everyone’s attention. I’m beginning to think that tickets for WWE Extreme Rules genuinely were sold entirely on the Undertaker because nobody seems to recognize anybody else.

Backstage, R-Truth and Carmella are taping up wanted posters to find Drake Maverick. They run into Alexa and Nikki. R-Truth ‘whispers’ into Alexa’s hair with a shout of “HAVE YOU SEEN HORNSWOGGLE?” They lead them on their way. Alexa gives Nikki a shirt of her own, and as they hug, the Street Profits come up. They ask where the celebration party will be once Alexa becomes champion. They clarify that they’re co-champions and the Profits laugh at the idea, thinking Alexa was lying. Nikki snaps at them and make their way out for their match.

Handicap Match for SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross

As expected, Alexa and Nikki make quick tags but Bayley fighting valiantly in the early going. But as Bayley is out on the apron fending off Nikki, Alexa sends her flying off and into the steps. Double teaming becomes easy from here as they stomp her in the corner, Regal-style hammerlock neckbreaker from Cross gets a 2. Nikki keeps the Regal-isms coming with a straitjacket lock. Bayley escapes and sends Nikki to the floor. Tries for a baseball slide, but Nikki traps her in the ring skirt. Bayley fights her off but Alexa clips her from behind with a baseball slide of her own. Nikki tags Alexa back in and now she’s even deeper in control.

Challenging team continues going in and out as Bayley gets caught in the Tree Of Woe. After taking several shots, Bayley gets down to the mat and knocks Nikki off the apron but gets an elevated choke from Alexa. Insult To Injury gets a nearfall. Bayley catches Alexa with a hard lariat out of nowhere and starts building momentum again. Suicide Dive to Nikki lays her out on the outside. Hot Shot on Bliss gets a nearfall.

Nikki tags in but gets a back suplex for her troubles, and Bayley bodyslams Alexa on top of her. Bayley hooks her with a double leg, rolls into an Indian Deathlock! Alexa tries to jump on Bayley, but gets caught into a Crossface! This is gotta be the strongest Bayley’s ever looked on the main roster, as they both struggle in submissions until Nikki bites Bayley’s hand which helps Alexa escape. Alexa then breaks up the hold on Nikki.

Tornado DDT gets a close 2 count. Alexa tags in and goes for Twisted Bliss, but Bayley gets the knees up! Nikki tags right back in and flies right into an elbow! Bayley with a Top Rope Elbow Drop… and that’s it, she retains!

    Winner: Bayley

Wow. Absolute powerface Bayley. They really want to get into Sasha’s good graces. But hey, I don’t hate it at all. This angle sure oughta be done now though.

    Monster Mash up next.

Last Man Standing: Bobby Lashley vs. Braun Strowman

Lengthy delay on Braun’s entrance to tease that he perhaps may not even show up. But he eventually comes out. Bobby tries to pick him off as he enters, but Braun grabs him and tosses him out to the apron. Lashley makes it back into the ring but gets smashed against the corner. We already have our first count, broken up as Lashley rolls outside. But Strowman goes out to pursue and plows through him with a shoulder block, for a 5 count! And now Braun goes all the way around the ring to build more speed… but Lashley stabs right through him with a big spear!

Braun gets up slow from this as Bobby grabs the 2000 ton steps and swings them right into Braun’s face. Braun gets up at 4 and takes another shot with the steps, this one driving him out into the crowd! Lashley pursues. Bobby has a chair and smacks Braun in the back with it. Strowman is actually trying to get some space making his way up the stairwell. Bobby keeps attacking him and… this is a bit of a throwback, they end up going through an entryway into the backstage area. A lot of cordoned off fans watch as Bobby throws Braun into a cement wall. They fight their way over towards the merch table, Braun ends up suplexing Bobby into a wall of shirts! Now that’s some advertising. Lashley gets up on a seven count.

Braun sends Lashley back out through an opposing entry way and smacks him down the stairs. Braun limps his way down the steps as they get back to the ground floor. Lashley makes it up at 6 as Braun gets a big running headstart for another shoulder block. Strowman lifts Lashley up but Bobby escapes and then spears Braun right through the barricade, back into ringside! Both men up at 8.

Lashley pulls a Braun and runs all the way around the ring and shoulderblocks Braun over the announce table and he ends up underneath it. Braun eventually climbs out from under the table and gets up at 9. He escapes to the crowd area once more, Lashley makes an athletic leap up to the barricade, looking impressive even if he did stumble and fall onto his feet on the floor. Still he ran at Braun and Strowman picked him up and threw him over to the Mandarin announce table! Slugging blows continue out there as another “This Is Awesome” breaks out and Bobby plays the tough guy demanding that Braun bring it even as he’s down on his knees.

Strowman pulls him up through another stairway. Bobby pulls a fan in front of Braun to distract him seemingly, before taking hold of him and pulling him up further. But Braun wrestles free and whallops him with a very red chair. Braun kicks open a bit of fencing and tries to get Lashley up for a powerslam. Lashely struggles but eventually Braun gets him up… Running Powerslam off the platform dropping several feet below! They end up slamming through the floor into wreckage.

We finally have an E-C-Dub chant (gotta be what you want when you put WWE Extreme Rules in Philly) as the ref counts even though he can’t see either of them. Braun blasts through the cardboard, standing along, as the count reaches ten.

    Winner: Braun Strowman

That was pretty dang cool. Going through the backstage area like old times was cool even if it seemed like they had very little in mind for what to actually do once they got there. But ultimately, had some neat, surprising moments and a fun finish.

AJ backstage, claims that his loss to Ricochet had nothing to do with his reforming with the Club. He says he takes nothing away from Ricochet as a WWE Superstar. But what he WILL take away from Ricochet is the United States championship.

Raw Reunion announced, coming up a week from Monday. Another round of one-off nostalgia pops, that’s what will fix the ratings woes…

SmackDown Tag Team Championship: Bryan & Rowan (c) vs. Heavy Machinery vs. New Day

Xavier and Bryan start us off. Xavier gets a rolling elbow, and Bryan ends up getting a blind tag from Tucker Knight. Tucker shows off some big rolls, including a bump to the outside after Rowan tagged him and dumped him. Rowan with an iron claw grinding on Xavier. Tags in Bryan, Irish Whip-assisted-Dropkick. Bryan gets Xavier into a Surfboard position and claws at his mouth and eyes since there aren’t any DQs.

Xavier ends up having to tag in Otis to escape and he gets a hot tag. He hols Bryan up and spins him… before stopping and spinning him the opposite way and finally slamming him. Otis splashes Bryan in the corner, and he falls flat onto his back. Otis gets fired up and nails the Caterpillar! Tags out to Tucky, catapult into Belly-To-Belly for a nearfall! Big E tags into the match for the first time and takes down Tucky, tries for a running splash but Tucker gets the knees up. Otis tags in, gets E up for a suplex as Tucker comes off the top rope with a crossbody! Otis pins but Rowan runs in to break it up. Rowan knocks Xavier off the apron, runs around outside for a crossbody of his own.

Bryan with a flying knee off the second rope to further destroy Xavier, but as he gets back up, Big E hits him with a spear to the floor! Otis stands alone in the ring, as the crowd anticipation builds… he hits the ropes and teases a dive… stops short, goes out to the apron, then hops off for a splash to lay out everybody! Now Tucker goes up top for another crossbody, this one taking out E and Rowan on the floor! Combined 600lbs here, bears noting! Compacter on E, Xavier rushes in to break up the pin!

Rowan tries for the Iron Claw on both Machinery boys but gets the double teaming of his life for his troubles as the big dudes smash him in the corner over and over. The two have him up top and continue up with him. Setting up for a double superplex… E crawls up underneath for a double powerbomb! Meanwhile Bryan goes up for a seemingly blind tag… E goes up and hits a superplex on Rowan meanwhile! But Bryan climbs the opposing corner, diving headbutt! Bryan then transitions into the LeBell Lock! Bryan has both arms hooked and as E tries to position his leg under the bottom rope, Bryan gets hold of one of them as well! E is forced to drag himself further and break the hold manually.

Yes Kicks follow… to no effect! E stands up to Bryan and gets a wicked smack for his troubles! And another but E fires up more and more before leveling him with a clothesline! Bryan tries his run-up the corner, but E grabs him out of the air, gets him up in position – UpUpDownDown, for the win!

    Winners: The New Day

The New Day, for now anyway, have singles and tag gold! That was another really good match to a slightly more existent crowd there.

New Day celebrate together backstage, as Paul Heyman sneakily steals the microphone away from a would-be interview. He makes his way to the stage, to more E-Cee-Dub chants of course. Paul starts up his usual spiel about Lesnar. He then claims that HE is Philadelphia, and HE is the entire concept of extreme. He says he’ll be damned – and probably will be anyway – if he leaves an extreme show without being a part of history. Once again he invokes his Spoiler Clause, which has never been broken, to say that his client Brock Lesnar will cash in the MITB contract.

Paul then admits that it’d be damn stupid of him to say this if it were true. “So you have to ask yourself, is it true? Or am I Paul Heyman?”

He leaves as AJ’s music hits for his title shot.

WWE United States Championship: Ricochet (c) vs. AJ Styles

Ric comes out, making his flippy entrance in the ring when Gallows and Anderson rush in and dogpile him before the bell. The ref gets them out of there but the champ’s roughed up now. AJ looks very confident as the bell sounds. Styles of course gets the early lead, pounding him into the corner, but Ricochet swings the match with some crisp armdrags, dropkick takes him to the floor. Tries for a dive but Styles gets out of the way, Ric able to catch himself on the ropes. This leads to a dive off the apron taking Styles down. Gallows distracts Ricochet though, allowing AJ to nail him from behind.

AJ rams Ricochet shoulderfirst into the ringpost. Brings him into the ring, huge whip sees him flip and slam backfirst into the corner. Pendulum backbreaker. AJ has a bit of a cravate on, Ricochet fights away but gets his comeback cut off with an elbow. Ricochet gets back into it though, with a flip kick leading into an enziguri. Ricochet builds momentum with ranas and the like, before hopping up to the top rope and diving down onto the Good Brothers! Back into the ring, AJ tries to take the advantage back with his usual Moonsault into a Reverse DDT, but Ricochet reverses it into his Double Northern Lights Suplex.

Ricochet on the apron, knocks AJ away, tries to springboard but AJ catches him onto his shoulders. Ushigoroshi, but AJ seems to hurt his knee in the process. AJ nonetheless teases a Styles Clash but gets taken into the corner. Back body drop gets Ricochet onto the apron, he tries to Tornado DDT himself back inside but AJ counters with a brutal snap suplex into the corner. Reverse DDT gets a nearfall. Ricochet tries to fight back but a Wheelbarrow Facebuster gets another 2. AJ tries for Styles Clash but a rana counter gets a narrow nearfall!

Suddenly a loud dueling chant starts as Ric and AJ start trading blows. AJ gets his usual quick flurry combo in, Ricochet hits another enziguri but AJ gets a pele in. Ricochet counters a suplex with his own, but when he goes for a second AJ plants him with a Brainbuster. Ricochet gets a hotshot onto the ropes, follows up with a beautiful Springboard Shooting Star Press! Gets the pin, but AJ’s foot is under the ropes and Anderson is there to point it out to the ref.

Ricochet up top, Anderson goes onto the apron to cut him off, Ricochet goes down to intercept, kicks him into the ring by accident. Goes back up, and Gallows crotches him as the ref is dealing with Anderson! AJ grabs Ricochet, sets him up and… my God, hits a Styles Clash off the middle rope, in reverse of how that’s usually done! AJ pins and of course that’s the end.

    Winner: AJ Styles

Another great wrestling match, shame not a lot of wrestling fans there to see it. Sad to see Ricochet’s title reign end so quickly but I imagine he’ll be taking it back and I don’t think anyone will complain about seeing this match again.

Been a fair few title changes on this one so far. Might be seeing Paul and Eric’s chosen champ lineup forming.

    Kevin Owens vs. Dolph Ziggler

    Ziggler slaps Kev… and stunner.

    Winner: Kevin Owens

Yeah given the time we have left with two world title matches up, that was kind of the natural finish.

Kevin gets on the mic and continues his worked shoots on Shane. He says if Shane beat the Undertaker earlier tonight it’d have killed him, but thanks to the Tombstone he gets to live another day. He says that Shane McMahon can go straight to Hell.

I presume Ziggler’s gonna be gone for another six months now.

Samoa Joe backstage for a promo ahead of his WWE title match. He promises to take the moment of New Day holding all the gold away from them.

WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Samoa Joe

Kofi starts off right with a dropkick, but Joe immediately fires back with a clothesline, not leaving his feet. Kofi tries to fight his hardest but can’t seem to do much real damage and Joe cuts him down with a judo legsweep. Joe grinds him down with a cravate. Joe with his elbow/enziguri combo in the corner gets a 2 count. Joe goes for a power toss into the corner, but Kofi hops up to the second rope. As Joe cockily walks away, Kofi surprises him with a flying dropkick. But Joe takes the lead right back and gets him with scything kicks. As Kofi tries to fight back, Joe grabs Kofi’s middle finger hilariously and wrenches it back.

Joe then drags Kofi outside, wedges his middle finger within the steps and crushes it with a stomp. He yells, “Who’s Number 1 now?!” In the ring, Joe mocks him with hard slaps. Kofi struggles to get back into it with leaping clotheslines, manages a top rope crossbody for his first 2 count of the match. Kofi hits the ropes to continue his momentum, but a snap powerslam puts that down. Big powerbomb follows for a nearfall. Joe proceeds to lock Kofi into a classic crossface with an arm singled out. Kofi escapes but Joe keeps nailing him until Kofi scores with an SOS for a 2 count.

Kofi sets up for the Trouble In Paradise, but Joe catches him with a Coquina Clutch out of the air! Kofi tries to counter it the usual way by walking up the ropes, but Joe just drops him onto the mat before he can do it, and hits him with a Senton! Joe continues the punishment but a Trouble In Paradise out of nowhere gets the win!

    Winner: Kofi Kingston

Well that felt very much like an oldschool Cena match. That was like 90% Joe before the somewhat flukey win. But it was effectively done.

And now we have… our illustrious main event.

WWE Extreme Rules Winner Take All Last Chance Mixed Tag Team Match for the Universal Championship and Raw Women’s Championship: Seth Rollins (c) & Becky Lynch (c) vs. Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans

(If the challengers lose, they will never get another shot at the respective titles!)

Lacey comes out with Seth’s name on her backside. So that’s fun. As the match starts, Lacey continually shows her behind to the opponents, until Becky kicks her out of the ring momentarily. Spin kick to the face and Lacey opts to tag out. Seth immediately gets Baron with a knee lift. Middle rope blockbuster takes Corbin down, he takes a breather outside… and gets out a Kendo Stick from under the ring. Seth gets it away from Baron, Lacey grabs it… and comes up reeeal close to Seth, until Becky waylays her with a stick her own! Seth and Becky proceed to wear out the challengers with their weapons.

Baseball Slide and Suicide Dive from Becky and Seth. Becky with a flying forearm off the apron to Lacey as Rollins hits another dive to Baron. “We Want Lesnar/No We Don’t” duel starts up. This came up during Joe/Kofi as well but it’s a tad louder now. Baron manages to cut them off and get a chair, which he takes to Seth’s back. Two chairs set up in the middle of the ring, Baron teases a chokeslam onto the top of them both but Rollins escapes. Grabs one of the chairs and swings it but Baron ducks it and hits a DDT. Baron gets the chair again and sets it up in the corner.

Makes no real attempt to make use of that though, Seth counters his offense with an enziguri and whips him headfirst into the chair. Seth tags Becky in and she opts to go to the floor to follow Lacey, they both try to cut each other off with chairs but Becky gets Lacey in the gut and Lacey just kinda flails her up into the air accidentally bouncing it off Becky’s head in the process.

Back in the ring, Becky has two chairs stacked, hits a Bexploder on Lacey right onto the chairs. Second-rope chair-assisted leg drop gets a nearfall. Becky goes up top, Baron tries to invervene, but Rollins tosses a chair his way. He catches it, and Becky comes off with a missile dropkick to the chair, right into Baron’s face! That was cool and Corey immediately ruined it by calling it a Man Daminator. Lacey runs in to knock Becky down and follows up with a nice moonsault for a nearfall. Reverse DDT from Becky, but she can’t pin.

Rollins tags in but Baron’s dead on the outside. So they opt to take the time to get out some tables, leaning one against the apron and setting up another between Lacey and Baron on the outside. Oh, no, both were meant to be setup there, okay. They actually end up spaced out quite a bit though as Baron and Lacey make it to their feet and toss Seth and Becky around. Seth is isolated in the ring now as Baron and Lacey both take Kendo Sticks to him. Lacey and Baron both hook him up for a chokeslam… Becky tries to intervene but Lacey cuts her off. Chokeslam to both Seth and Becky, for a nearfall.

Baron and Lacey bring Seth to the outside again, and look to double suplex him through one of the tables. But Seth manages to get back to his feet, Becky comes up to assist and they get a dual-suplex onto the ramp. They now set Baron and Lacey up on the tables. Seth up top, Becky from the middle. Becky with a legdrop to Lacey through the table, Rollins with a huge frog splash to Baron through the table!

That was a great spot, to a very underwhelmed response for the most part. Seth goes for the Curbstomp in the ring, but Baron counters into a powerbomb. Deep Six follows for a pin, Becky has to break it up. Lacey gets knocked away… Baron pulls Becky in for the End Of Days! Wow, they actually did it. I can’t believe they actually did it. Rollins of course goes absolutely crazy wailing on Baron with kendo stick shots and chair shots, before destroying him with a curbstomp… and then another, and then a third! Lacey is terrified and backs up the ramp, as Rollins finally pins Baron.

Winners: Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch

The champs retain but before we can even digest that finish, Brock Lesnar’s theme plays and out comes him and Heyman. Brock comes in, gets a German in on Seth… and the MITB is officially being cashed in! The bell rings!

WWE Universal Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Brock Lesnar

    Aaaaand F-5.

    Winner: Brock Lesnar

That quick. Lesnar is now once again the Universal Champion. There is indeed power to Heyman giving out spoilers apparently. He walks out with the title and yep… that’s it.

Everyone was uh, looking forward to that again, right?

Hoof. Another show with some extremely well-worked, underappreciated midcard matches… in fact the main event was actually much better than Stomping Grounds on every level. I dare call it a good match in fact. But Lesnar holding any title is anti-excitement to me. Ah well… on the road now to SummerSlam.

I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.
