It’s been speculated on for months, whether or not Seth Rollins would be turning heel. There’s been much debate on if it should happen, or how it should be done.
WWE is still currently on-going, but in the very first segment we already have what is likely to be the biggest news story of the night. After much ado, it finally happened here tonight. Seth Rollins has turned heel.
The show opened with Seth Rollins hosting a Town Hall Meeting.
This consisted of him standing in the ring and addressing the roster as they surrounded the ringside area. While he was on the surface trying to motivate them and light a fire under them, Seth one by one ended up chastising the entire roster.
He said that the whole roster sucked the night before. He told Randy Orton that he was the weak link of the team last night at Survivor Series, then said he’d been here long enough and could go ahead and leave once he made his way to the back. Seth told Charlotte that she failed in leading Team Raw’s Women’s team, and mocked her for calling herself a Flair. Rollins told Rey that he let everyone down harder than anyone, putting him down for failing to take the WWE title from Brock Lesnar even with a lead pipe and “his dumb son” helping him out.
That was enough for the brunt of the roster, as they made their leave in disgust. Kevin Owens stuck behind, and Rollins ran him down too, calling him Mr. NXT, questioning his loyalty. After claiming that Owens was a Seth Rollins wannabe and basically refusing to give him a chance to reply, Owens responded – with a stunner, much to the crowd’s ovation!
There’s been thought of double turns in the past, subtle turns of a sort. But there’s no ambiguity to this one. Seth Rollins has gone full Bret Hart, turning heel whilst claiming to be a more valiant hero than any other.
