Tegan Nox: WWE's Most Unlucky Performer

At NXT Takeover War Games III, Tegan Nox was finally going to have her time to shine. Her WWE career up to this point has been riddled with roadblocks, and Dakota Kai took this moment away from her. WWE fans have yet to really know what Nox is all about, due to her terrible luck so far in the company.

    Mae Young Classic Curse

A few years ago, the signing of the then Nixon Newell to WWE felt huge. She had built up a very strong reputation in the UK indies & through tours of Japan, she would be signed on to compete in the inaugural Mae Young Classic in 2017. She would never compete in the tournament as she tore her ACL and was sidelined just before it began.

She would return to action at an NXT live event teaming with Dakota Kai, and would be finally able to enter the Mae Young Classic. She would go on defeat Zatara & Nicole Matthews, only to have her tournament dreams dashed in a match with Rhea Ripley when she would fall to injury once again. Nox posted on Twitter that she had suffered numerous injuries during the match, including: a torn Anterior cruciate ligament, Medial collateral ligament, Lateral collateral ligament, meniscus, and Patellar dislocation. She would be sidelined for another year, again stopping any momentum she built up. Reports indicate she was the companies favorite to win the entire tournament, playing the underdog story based on her misfortunes with missing the first tournament.

    Returning Once Again

In June of 2019, she would finally return to action at a WWE Live Event, showing up in NXT UK shortly after to clash with Kay Lee Rae, before showing up in NXT once again with longtime friend and partner Dakota Kai. They would earn a shot at the WWE Womens Tag Team Championships, losing to The Kabuki Warriors. The build to War Games began shortly after, with Nox earning a slot on Team Rhea Ripley as Kai would be overlooked, until the day of the show when Kai was a last minute addition to the team.

    Betrayal

Midway through the first ever womens war games matchup, when it was Dakota Kais turn to enter the match, she instead turned to attack Tegan Nox, brutalizing her previously injured knee with the shark cage door, which housed the members of the War Games teams. The attack would leave her unable to enter the dual caged mayhem, and that is where her story currently is at.

Needless to say, the forthcoming feud with Dakota Kai will finally show everyone just how damn good Tegan Nox can be. Fans haven’t seen anything yet, from the woman who might very well be the most slept on performer in WWE. Soon, everyone will know just how fantastic she can be. It will be the defining feud for both women for years to come, much like Sasha Banks vs. Bayley was from their time on the black & gold brand.
