Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give a quick preview of WWE NXT. I didn’t forget! Don’t act like I forgot! Definitely not doing this last minute!
Mia Yim and Io Shirai to square off in a ladder match.
This will be pretty damn cool! Mia’s a solid brawler, Io’s incredible and one of the most brutal high fliers in the game – a style that can rarely even be cited. They should make for a pretty great ladder match.
It’s a high stakes one as well, considering that the winner’s team gets the advantage in their WarGames match. They’ll be the one whose teammates come in first, making it an effective handicap match for their side until everyone’s in.
The teams will be Rhea Ripley, Tegan Nox, Candice LaRae & Mia Yim vs. Shayna Baszler, Bianca Belair, Io Shirai and a partner still to be named. Odds seem decent we’ll find out who that is tonight, and they may actually play into this match here…
WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Lio Rush (c) vs. Angel Garza
Last week, Angel Garza defeated Drew Gulak to become the No. 1 Contender for the Cruiserweight title. He’ll be the first to challenge Lio Rush after his winning the championship weeks ago.
This is sure to be an athletic, exciting encounter, the kind you can always expect from this division at it’s best. Angel’s a hot prospect to be sure. It’s certainly too soon to take the title off of Lio, that guy’s an obvious ace for this division. But they’ll be sure to have a fantastic match all the same.
Another invasion?
Last week the OC made their mark on NXT. It was the first time main roster folks retaliated on NXT for their frequent invasions of Raw and SmackDown.
It’s of course being teased once more that a follow-up could be in order. It would honestly be more shocking than anything if there wasn’t one. So who will it be? What will be the next step in this on-going three way war? We’ll find out tonight on WWE NXT.
