Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here and we’ve gotten to the most special night of the week once more. It is Wednedsday, which means some really, really damn good wrestling will be going down tonight! We are less than an hour away now, which means I better get going with my previews! Luckily, All Elite Wrestling is quite consistently good with giving me a lot to talk about, so uh… let’s get talking!
Awesome Kong will be in action.
“In action” is of course code for “will be winning a squash match”. So odds are good her opponent tonight will either be someone you’ve never seen before, or Leva Bates. Either way, it won’t be a lengthy one. This is fairly significant, being that it’s her AEW Dynamite debut! Awesome Kong is a storied competitor to say the least, who first came to prominence in the United States joining up with TNA back in the early days of their Knockouts division. She did a lot to help pave the way for many of the larger female competitors that you might see today. They’ve definitely become a lot more prominent in recent years, which is a great thing.
Brandi Rhodes will no doubt be out there with Awesome Kong, and they may well be preparing to further the Nightmare Collective a little bit more. Will we perhaps learn the identity of the man whose face was obscured during their last little video? Maybe we’ll hear a little more about the fan who made her pledge and had her head shaved a couple of weeks ago? Or maybe a new pledge will be seen here tonight? For all I know, Kong’s opponent might decide joining them is a better idea then actually taking this fight with her… that’d be fairly believable, honestly.
