Ladies and gentlemen, we’re here on another golden Wednesday! All Elite Wrestling brings us another episode of AEW Dynamite! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and as always, I am here to bring the previews! As usual, it’s not a particularly hard job with this show, as they like to announce plenty of what they’re doing in advance. About half an hour ’til showtime now, so let’s not dilly-dally, let’s see what we got left to look at!
Hangman Page & Kenny Omega vs. The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix)
Last week, we saw Page and Omega team up against Kip Sabian and Shawn Spears in a winning effort, but that comes with some caveats. After all, Joey Janela’s interference basically took Shawn Spears out of the match entirely, making it more a 2-on-1. Then, when Kenny was going for the victory, Page blind tagged himself in and basically stole the victory for himself in a fairly selfish move. Afterwards, Omega went for high fives only for Page to basically brush him off in their celebration.
This was the latest in a long line of teases and foreshadowing that Page may well be turning heel before long, and at this point I think we’re all just curious as to when it goes down. Personally, tonight seems like a somewhat likely night. After all… Pentagon Jr and Rey Fenix make up one of AEW’s greatest, most over and most successful tag teams. Frankly, they have a good case for being the best tag team going right now in my estimation.
With a team beset with problems like Page and Omega are, it seems easy enough for me to say that the Lucha Bros will be taking this one. Where that will leave their opponents is hard to say… and how we end up getting there even more interesting. Plenty of ways this could go.
