Wednesday means wrestling! Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here gearing up for another episode of AEW Dynamite coming up soon and only getting closer! It’s just a little under a half hour away from air time as I type this and I better get going on this preview because they’ve been kind enough to give me a whole lot of advertised segments to talk about, matches and promos alike! Eight, by my count! To go from Raw and SmackDown barely giving me two every week to knowing eight things that will definitely be on Dynamite tonight, it’s pretty crazy honestly.
Tonight, we’ve got a big time trios match to look forward to!
Dustin Rhodes & The Young Bucks vs. The Inner Circle (Sammy Guevara, Santana & Ortiz)
This match arose after this past week, in which Dustin Rhodes was vowing vengeance against Jake Hager, only for Sammy Guevara, Santana & Ortiz to gang up on him in a three-on-one beatdown. This was of course until the Young Bucks arrived to help make the save! Matt and Nick Jackson have of course been embroiled in a blood feud with Proud-N-Powerful for quite some time, dating back to Santana and Ortiz’ first appearances back at All Out which saw them assaulting the Bucks after their brutal Escalera de la Muerte match with the Lucha Bros.
This is sure to be hot stuff, as it always should be when the Elite and the Inner Circle go at it. And Dustin, being the brother of Cody Rhodes, is certainly an honorary member of the Elite if not an official one! He is still tending to a broken hand though, after Hager wedged it between a car door and stomped it several weeks ago! One can only imagine that the Inner Circle members will be all too happy to take advantage. The injury has kept him out of action for over a month and one has to think he’s the weak link here, which may just cost them the match. The Inner Circle over.
