It seems like King Corbin is adding someone else to his royal court. He already has Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode helping him out, but will this trio gain a new member?
House show listing for the 12/26 show in Cincinnati, OH lists a street fight between Roman Reigns & King Corbin, but Corbin is set to have Drake Maverick in his corner.
House shows are always subject to changes, but they are also where WWE tests new ideas before bringing them to TV.
Drake Maverick is the general manager of 205 Live, and was previously the manager of The Authors of Pain. With 205 Live on shakey terms entering 2020, and Authors of Pain having moved on, Drake will need a new job. He is also a former 24/7 champion, and feuded with R-Truth over the title.
Drake Maverick, Hand Of The King?
Drake Maverick while an accomplished wrestler, lacks the size to be a considerable threat. But as a manager and mouth piece for King Corbin, he could deliver Corbins royal decrees to his opponents.
Having an over the top performer like Maverick to hand deliver messages and take an asskicking could be a very fun way to add some entertainment to the King Corbin character.
He could also play the role of a Jester, embarrassing himself at the word of Corbin. He previously pee’d himself on camera at Survivor Series 2018 during a match between Authors Of Pain & The Bar, so he isn’t opposed to looking foolish.
King Corbin and His Future
King Corbin is currently in a feud with Roman Reigns and is set to face him in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match at the upcoming TLC PPV. That should conclude their feud, as both will be focused on the Royal Rumble in January.
With Corbin being the reigning king of WWE, its only right for him to be in the Royal Rumble, I mean Royal is right in the name!
Its unclear what his Wrestlemania plans will be. Maybe he will somehow end up in a feud with Jerry Lawler over the king title, and Lawler will be able to say he’s wrestled in three different decades for WWE?
