Ladies and gentlemen, whether you realize it or not, we are at the precipice of a three-day weekend of pro wrestling PPVs. Of course WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2019 is this Sunday. But that’s not even close to all. The National Wrestling Alliance, which really came out of the woodwork to impress a lot of people in the fall of 2019, are returning to PPV for the first time in April tomorrow night, with their event, Into The Fire. And if that’s not enough, tonight, Ring of Honor is putting on what is nominally their biggest event of the year, the WrestleMania-equivalent if you weel, ROH Final Battle 2019!
It’s the latter that I’ll be discussing right now, as we have ten matches to look into! So let’s not waste any more time.
Flamita & Bandido vs. Villain Enterprises (Marty Scurll & Flip Gordon)
And so we’ve finally gotten to this match here… it may well be the most interesting one on the card in many ways. I mean first and foremost, it should be a really, really good match given the talent involved here. Bandido is one of the most outrageously spectacular luchadores going today. Flip Gordon is a fantastic athlete in his own right. Marty Scurll is one of the more sound technicians you’ll find going and a charismatic worker for certain. I can’t say I know too much about Flamita, but everything I’ve heard is quite promising.
But beyond that… it’s long been thought that Final Battle (and the tapings that follow on the next night) will be the end for Marty Scurll in Ring of Honor. It shouldn’t be long now before we find out where his career is taking him next. That makes this one to watch for sure. And that being the case, Bandido & Flamita are the easy picks to make on this occasion.
ROH Final Battle 2019 airs tonight on iPPV, 7PM CT.
