With the news of Lars Sullivan porn past being unearthed and plastered all over the internet, it’s important to remember that he is not the only wrestler to have a past in that world. While not as extreme as what Lars did, other notable WWE stars have taken jobs in their early wrestling days that lean towards the sexual side of things.
Seth Rollins Did It As Tyler Black
The most notable and well-known one involves multi-time world champion Seth Rollins under his old ring name of Tyler Black. He is in a video with Canadian wrestler Scotty Mac & Marek Brave. While neither of them made it big and mostly just became journeymen type wrestlers, there was obviously much bigger plans for Tyler Black in wrestling. It was done for the site Cyberfights, which was a leading provider of this type of content.
Most indie wrestlers don’t make that much money, so they wouldn’t turn down an easy pay day. With how the internet culture is, this type of content more acceptable than it would have been back in the 1980’s for example. Imagine the scandal that would have popped up if someone found a VHS tape of Hulk Hogan grinding on Iron Sheik in a small ring set up in a warehouse? It would be a much bigger splash that Rollins.
Student & Teacher Grapple
From the same site, there is also an interesting and well-known one featuring a teacher and his student. It’s of Finn Balor (then Fergal Devitt) & Becky Lynch (then Rebecca Knox) sparring and doing some chain wrestling. It is significantly less sexually charged than the video containing Seth Rollins, but comes from the same source. This is likely because for the fact that intergender wrestling is inherently sexualized by wrestling fans, so less need to play it up.
Rollins, Lynch & Balor are just three of many who took part in this side of the industry. A pay day is a pay day, and many wrestlers will take that. Many of the people coming up through the industry will have something to this effect in their past, and that’s okay. While Lars Sullivans case is extreme as his video was something much more graphic, wrestlers are just people. Their pasts are more interesting to us, but they’re just people and everyone has something in their past they would rather not have dredged up.
