Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here, we are well over an hour into Monday Night Raw as I type this! A match just went down, beginning with Charlotte Flair coming out to announce entry into the 2020 Royal Rumble, before stopping to make an open challenge to anyone who might want to bow down to the Queen.
Natalya answered the call, and the two of them went head to head, another in their lengthy series of matches together.
You can see an excerpt of my recap of this match below:
Brutal German Suplex from Natalya! Charlotte responds with an Exploder Suplex sending her flying! Charlotte looks mad, charging big boot in the corner but Nattie ducks, turns it into a big sit-out powerbomb for a nearfall! Natalya wants the Sharpshooter, but Charlotte kicks her away! The two claw at each other, kick to the face, Charlotte hits the ropes, big spear for a nearfall! Charlotte working over the leg again, wants the figure four but Natalya shoves her away. Charlotte breaks the Sharpshooter attempt after, very low to the mat Natural Selection for a nearfall. Charlotte with a moonsault attempt, Nattie with the boots up, Charlotte grabs the legs but Nattie with an inside cradle reversal for a nearfall, Charlotte kicks her in the face and locks in the Figure Four Leglock, turned into the Figure Eight. Nattie struggles for a while but eventually has to submit.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
WWE Raw Results (12/30/2019) Charlotte Flair def. Natalya
This definitely had some highlights, and a simple enough story. I couldn’t help but think I’d seen them have much better matches overall in the past, but nothing to complain about.
Charlotte Flair gaining some momentum and looks primed to be setup as a favorite to win the 2020 Royal Rumble match. It was noted that this was one of few things she has yet to achieve.
