I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and I swear to God, of course they would do this! I had an extra preview that I still needed to do and I figured I’d just let it happen early in the show since it was for the main event but no of course not! Why on Earth would a major match with world title implications headline the show? It’s not a thrown together tag match after all! Well, whatever, WWE SmackDown has begun and the opener – the obvious headliner – is in progress as we speak.
So… we have a lot on the line here theoretically, and this match was set up last week!
Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz vs. King Corbin
This triple threat sees two men who the Fiend and Bray Wyatt have been terrorizing as of late, as well as King Corbin who is of course King Corbin. The winner of this match will go on to face the Fiend for the WWE Universal Championship at the 2020 Royal Rumble event!
Daniel Bryan has been the outright feud for months. Bryan has been at odds with the Fiend, and was recently drug under the ring to have every bit of hair ripped from his head. He returned at WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2019, the last PPV of the decade, to attack Bray Wyatt and save the Fiend from being decimated by his giant oversized cartoon mallet.
The Miz has had Bray break into his house and screw with his family. Meanwhile King Corbin demanded his shot after defeating Roman Reigns with the help of about 20 other people at the aforementioned TLC. So after a Traditional TV Main Event saw the Miz tap out Dolph Ziggler in a tag match, a triple threat between the three men was announced for the final SmackDown of the year.
As I type this, the match was supposed to be beginning but that may have been a trick as Roman Reigns made his presence known as well. Stay tuned.
