WWE Friday Night SmackDown continues! Elias and Braun Strowman teaming up here tonight against Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro.
After a commercial, Elias appears in the ring. Talks about the oncoming Royal Rumble. He will put his heart and soul into winning that match. Asks who wants to Walk With Elias? Decent pop. Starts playing on his guitar, everyone clapping along. “This year’s Rumble starts with the Beast, luckily for you it’s gonna end with me. Goodbye Seth, Messiah you ain’t. Goodbye Randy Orton, Rey and Ricochet. This next part, I need someone else to help sing. So please welcome Braun Strowman to the ring.”
Out indeed comes Braun. Elias tells him on Sunday it’s absolutely every man for himself. But tonight, as a special treat, he thought the two of them could do a duet. Asks Dallas if they’d like to see Braun Strowman sing with him and they say yes. And even chant “Yes”! Elias hands Braun a microphone. Elias starts a-strumming again. Braun starts to growl into the mic – until Cesaro’s music interrupts.
Braun Strowman & Elias vs. Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura
Elias takes control of Cesaro at the start, Snake Eyes. Elias pulls Cesaro to the corner, goes up top. Rope walk commences! Turns this into a Meteora, dang! Sami Zayn distracts the ref, Shinsuke grabs the ankle, Cesaro takes control of Elias. Strowman plows through Shinsuke though and Sami bolts through the crowd as we come to a commercial break. We come back to see Elias fighting back, mule kick. Elias kicks him away but Shinsuke tags in to cut him off. Dragon Whip takes him down. Nak setting up for the Kinsasha! But he runs right into a leaping knee lift from Elias!
Crawls over… Strowman tags in! Runs through Shinsuke once, twice! Clothesline in the corner, big biel toss! Corner avalanche, hammer fist to the chest! Nakamura gets the boot up in the corner, flying knee off the middle rope! Tag to Cesaro, double team whip throws him into the post! Double Russian Legsweep, running knee from Nakamura, Cesaro covers for a nearfall! Driving Uppercut, another nearfall. Cesaro asks Sami for help and he distracts the referee. Shinsuke grabs a steel chair but Elias cuts him off! Strowman plants Cesaro with a Running Powerslam, tag to Elias, flying elbow for the victory!
Winners: Braun Strowman & Elias
Perfectly solid stuff, Strowman continues to gain momentum heading into the eventual IC title match.
