Another edition of WWE Monday Night Raw is soon at hand everyone! And man, is there a big fallout from last night or what? The 2020 Royal Rumble just concluded and we are reeling from it for certain. In a good way, though! And never could that fallout be more evident than with the likes of Drew McIntyre and Charlotte Flair. After all, they won the damn Rumble matches! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer, here to give you the live coverage of the event as it happens, plus dish out previews of everything you can expect to see here tonight! There’s definitely more to talk about than usual so let’s get into it!
Charlotte Flair and Drew McIntyre announce who they’re challenging at WrestleMania.
Now, in spite of them being grouped together here, both in this article and in the graphic they’re using to hype this, I think one can safely assume that they won’t be doing this at the time. We’re almost assuredly looking at two different segments. I just… felt like pointing that out.
Regardless, the winners of both the Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble matches are conveniently both on Monday Night Raw, and thus they will be appearing here this evening. Nominally, this will be to announce who they will be facing at WrestleMania. Remember, with the brand split in play, the winner gets to choose what title and thereby which champion they will be facing at the Show of Shows. This means Charlotte can go after Becky Lynch, or jump to SmackDown to face off with Bayley. Conversely, Drew McIntyre can challenge the Beast Brock Lesnar, or make the move to the blue brand to tangle with the Fiend.
It should be noted that they often like to toy with us on things like this.
WWE is never too good for a bait and switch and they always seem to particularly enjoy it with this scenario here. They love to say that people will announce who they will be facing only to put it off for whatever reason. They’ll abruptly state that they aren’t saying it after all or someone will interrupt them… could well happen.
As for who it will be, it sure was heavily hinted that Drew’s going after Lesnar last night and I would imagine that’s the plan. For Charlotte though, it’s a little hard to say… we’ll see.
