Last week on Friday Night Smackdown, we got a surprise return. It was known for weeks that John Morrison was back in WWE, after it was made official on WWE Backstage, and then he appeared on The Bump to talk about his return. But we didn’t know which brand he would choose to call home. He could have went to Monday Night RAW and helped take the fight to Seth Rollins & The Authors Of Pain, or went to NXT to see who is truly Johnny Wrestling. Instead he popped up on Friday Night Smackdown, where he reunited with former tag team partner and rival, The Miz.
John Morrison To Appear On Miz TV
John Morrison will be appearing as a special guest on the long running talkshow segment, Miz TV. This will be interesting to see as it brings back memories of The Dirt Sheet, a similar segment both men would run back during their days as a team. WWE just recently uploaded a best of compilation of moments from The Dirt Sheet for fans to enjoy, so anyone can get a taste of what to expect with these two on the microphone together.
What To Expect From This Reunion?
I expect this to be Miz & Morrison declaring their intent to join the tag team division on Smackdown, likely with a team like the also returning Usos coming down to set the challenge to test the former champions. Both men have wildly improved and won world championships since they were a tag team, so it will be interesting to see if they are able to co-exists still. It is possibly that both men will have too large an ego to share the spotlight at this time. It could be a short lived reunion which could implode just in time for Wrestlemania.
I could also be completely wrong, and they could go on to have tag team success once again. With teams like The Revival, The Usos, The New Day and Heavy Machinery to work with, they could make the division just a bit more exciting and bring some veteran experience to the table.
Are you excited to see John Morrison appear back on WWE TV alongside The Miz? Or were you hoping to see him break new ground in WWE instead of rehashing an old gimmick?
