Ladies and gentlemen my name is Jordan Huie, you are here at the Overtimer and Monday Night Raw is on as we speak! And tonight, Samoa Joe & Kevin Owens will be taking on Seth Rollins and Akam & Rezar of the AOP in a six man tag team match. Samoa Joe has picked a partner to be the third man on their side but has yet to reveal it to us. However, he did let Owens know and he seemed very intrigued.
This is a curious thing because Samoa Joe is not known for having a lot of allies, particularly in the WWE. He’s been a pretty dedicated loner, basically from the day he was signed to WWE NXT years ago. So there really isn’t a super obvious choice for who he would reach out in a time of need like this.
Rey Mysterio would be an obvious ally in this match if not for his grueling match with Andrade earlier in the night. One thought that does come to mind is that Dio Maddin, the guy Samoa Joe replaced on commentary for a short time, has gone back into training to become a wrestler and might be looking to repay Joe for filling in for him. But that’s a pretty unlikely pick for a number of reasons. He’s a relatively obscure name and to bring him back now would almost force you to have him go after Lesnar, as he was the one who put him out and that’d be too fresh in people’s minds, atleast by the way WWE usually thinks. No one expects that to be a thing.
Kevin Owens reacted pretty heavily when he learned who his partner would be, and they’re seemingly looking to make a pretty big deal over whomever this turns out to be.
