WWE Worlds Collide 2020 is soon at hand everyone! It’s a colossal show with a colossal main event, pitting NXT’s top stable against NXT UK’s! The Undisputed Era take on Imperium in what is sure to be one for the ages! My name is Jordan Huie and here at the Overtimer, I’ll be giving this show the same live coverage you’ve come to expect! And before that, we got previews; except now we have but one left to cover! And it’s easily the biggest, the biggest match you could possibly put on between these two brands! Let’s not waste any more time getting into this one…
The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong) vs. Imperium (WALTER, Alexander Wolfe, Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner)
I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say this is among the biggest pure eight-man tag matches I’ve ever seen advertised. These two factions have both totally dominated their respective brands throughout all of 2019. Now, in this ultimate battle for brand supremacy, we get this ultimate stable war coming to a head as well!
The Undisputed Era, of course helmed by NXT Champion Adam Cole, took NXT by storm three years ago. And they haven’t stopped shocking the system ever since. At the start of 2019, at a point where none of them held a title, Cole put out a prophecy. He claimed that they would close the year covered in gold. And the prophecy came true. Cole won the NXT Championship at TakeOver: XXV from Johnny Gargano, June 1st 2019 and he’s kept a firm grip on it ever since. Honestly, I’m still not sure if he’ll be losing it anytime soon!
His boys Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly took the tag team titles off of the Street Profits two months later, and they too have kept hold of the gold since August. Just a month later, Roderick Strong wrestled the NXT North American Championship away from Velveteen Dream on NXT’s USA Network debut! The faction indeed closed out the year covered in gold. But alas, it did not last, as Roddy did lose the North American title just days before this event.
In comparison, Imperium only have WALTER as their gold standard. But what a gold standard he is.
On April 5th, 2019, WALTER did what no one else could, ending the 685 day reign of Pete Dunne at NXT TakeOver: New York. Since then, few have even come close to dethroning him. He is an unstoppable juggernaut the likes of which we have perhaps never truly seen in WWE. He is exactly as skilled and freakishly athletic as he is a monster. He has no holes. He is WALTER and he is unbeatable. I think tonight is included in that statement… I’m picking Imperium to get the biggest win they’ve ever had as a group.
Should all go by my predictions, we should get a 3-3 split between these interband matches. Not bad.
