WWE Monday Night Raw rolls on, Erick Rowan and Aleister Black here are about to face off – the first non-squash match for Rowan in quite some time and a rare non-squash for Black as well.
Aleister Black vs. Erick Rowan
Black with an immediate pump knee to the face of Rowan! Low bridges him to the outside, running kick from the apron, wants an Asai Moonsault but Rowan evades it, plows through him with a crossbody! Hardee’s commercial inset starts, as Rowan throws Black into the ring and covers him for a nearfall. Pummels him to the corner, whip to the opposite, charging body block into a standing dropkick for a 2 count. Noogie cinched in. Black fights his way up but Rowan takes him back down and poses. Commercials still going for an unreasonably long time. Pumphandle Backbreaker. Bearhug. Shots to the back of Black.
Aleister elbows his way out, sunset flip, Rowan drops an elbow but it’s missed, Black with a Roundhouse Kick to the head! High kicks to the chest as we come back, Black with a combination of strikes. Rowan ducks a roundhouse, throws him to the ropes, pop-up into a Powerslam of sorts for a nearfall! Throws him to a corner and hammers him. Pulls him to the outside by the legs. Swings him roughly into the barricade! Inverted Back Suplex lands Black legsfirst onto the barricade! Wants to Powerbomb him into the post but a rana sends Rowan into the post instead! Runs to the second rope for a Triangle Moonsault Press!
Throws Rowan into the ring, another combination of kicks, Rowan catches one but he breaks free, pump knee catches him flush for a nearfall! Black tries for Black Mass but it’s knocked away, Rowan wants the Iron Claw but it’s also escaped. Black whipped to the ropes, big boot lays him out! Powerbomb for a nearfall! Iron Claw Slam attempted, Black escapes behind him – Black Mass sends him staggering to the second rope! Fights to his feet but drops to a knee, barely still conscious. A second Black Mass puts him down! And that is that!
Winner: Aleister Black
Nothing too crazy until the end there but a pretty good TV match. It’s actually not everyday that two people with lengthy winning streaks clash on Raw, even if in Rowan’s case he pretty much never beats anyone you’ve ever heard of.
