WWE Friday Night SmackDown is on tonight once again! And the Firefly Funhouse will be gracing us with it’s unique charm yet again! I’m Jordan Huie, you are here visiting the Overtimer and tonight, like many other nights on the wrestling week, you’ll be getting the full coverage of the show, which goes on live in less than an hour as of this writing! That means a recap and results from the show moments after the segments conclude! Plus, previews of everything to come! There’s apparently a fair bit more to talk about than usual here tonight too so I should really get going! Let’s get started on these previews!
The Firefly Funhouse returns tonight!
Bray Wyatt will be hosting another edition of the Firefly Funhouse, and given that they’re hyping it up this time, I’m guessing it’s more than just a fairly regular promo that happens to come from the set. Bray Wyatt and his alter-ego the Fiend have thwarted the attempts of Daniel Bryan for good as of the 2020 Royal Rumble match. So it’s about that time for us to find out what’s in store next for the WWE Universal Champion.
Now of course with WrestleMania on the horizon, many (myself included) are expecting Roman Reigns to challenge the Fiend at the show of shows. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves… there’s plenty we gotta get through before we’re at Mania. We have Super Show-Down in Saudi Arabia in twenty days after all, and the last time WWE made that bloodmoney-sponsored trip, well… the Fiend won the Universal title to begin with! So it’d hardly be a shock if had a defense there this go-round. And very shortly after that, we have this year’s iteration of the Elimination Chamber to look forward to.
So who’s next in line…? Well… that’s uh, kind of an issue, isn’t it? If Brock Lesnar hadn’t totally ruined Kofi Kingston, that might be a good option. But he’s tied up feuding with Miz and Morrison anyway, so he can be ruled out for Super Show-Down atleast. Braun Strowman just won the IC title so we’re probably not going there. So who’s the next babyface down the line from there…? Shorty G just lost a feud to Sheamus and has zero momentum, they keep forgetting Mustafa Ali exists…
The legitimate most likely candidate is probably Elias. The sentimental favorite would probably be Otis. That’s uh, the state of that. Yeah, maybe he’ll just skip Super Show-Down and focus on defending at the Chamber, actually… or we’re getting the Fiend vs. Goldberg. That’d sure be a beautiful mess. Either way, we should have some inclination after this promo.
