WWE Friday Night SmackDown is almost over. There’s just one thing left, the much hyped appearance of John Cena! There’s a pretty warm reception for him as he makes his way out, and the crowd really rises as the music fades. Loud Cena chant. Says he came here tonight to talk to us but you’re talking to him right now, his heart is beating out of his chest. He’s excited as he talks up SmackDown Live Friday on Fox, tells Boston to let him hear them. Huge pop!
Cena says this is crazy, this is insane, what is going on? Another loud chant of “Cena”. Thanks the crowd. “What am I doing here? …Well it’s WrestleMania Season…” Another ovation. Cena says it’s time to answer the question of what he’s doing at WrestleMania. Says that’s a show that no WWE Superstar wants to miss and while his role may have changed, he is and always will be a WWE Superstar. Says he’s doing something different. He knows how hard WWE Superstars work to make their dreams come true at WrestleMania and he also makes sure to listen to the greatest WWE Superstar of all, the WWE Universe.
And sometimes you may think “they” don’t listen to you, but he hears you.
Knows that you are all passionate about the future of WWE and he feels it because he is too. Another large chant of Cena! John almost starts to get choked up as he says he knows he could pretty much come down here tonight and say anything and make it happen. But he says he’s doing the right thing… this year’s WrestleMania should go without John Cena. Boos!
Cena says he hears them. It’s not goodbye, but it is goodbye for now. He believes in the future as should everyone, says a spot at WrestleMania should be earned and not demanded. But that makes tonight special because he doesn’t know when he’ll be showing up next. If he were to make a big announcement, he wanted to do it right here where his family could hear him. He hails from West Newbury, Mass and here in Boston , he hopes the world is listening because we have a very rowdy group tonight! One last major chant of “Cena”. He says he can’t thank them enough.
His theme hits as he makes his way out and up the ramp, to the stage. Gives the crowd a salute… before the lights drop! Cena looks nervous as darkness falls. They come back up… Cena slowly drops his hand and looks around. The camera slowly pans to show the Fiend behind him! The Fiend points at the WrestleMania sign! Enormous chant of “Yes”! Cena contemplates it… gives a tip of the hat in response! The lights fall and Bray’s laughter echoes to end the show. Pretty hype segment.
