WWE Monday Night Raw is two hours in now folks! Charlotte Flair is here and supposedly she is about to announce who she will face here tonight at WrestleMania. We’ll see if that’s true this time around. Spoiler: Rhea Ripley shows up! Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give you the live recap and results!
The way commentary talks up Raw and SmackDown as equal choices, it does make me wonder if this rumor of her challenging for the NXT title instead has legs… does seem like the way they’d set that up. Charlotte in the ring brings up how everyone is asking which title she’s going for. She says she’s held the Raw Women’s Championship multiple times and beaten Becky, she’s held the SmackDown Women’s Championship multiple times and beaten Bayley. People start to chant for Rhea. Charlotte says she has love for NXT and NXT has love for the queen. She’s held the gold ten times… but the queen still wants all the gold!
Rhea Ripley’s theme hits and here she is on the stage!
Big NXT chant as she makes her way into the ring. Ripley praises Charlotte for winning the women’s Royal Rumble and now she gets to challenge for any title she wants at WrestleMania. And like she said, she’s already beaten Becky and Bayley. But you know who you haven’t beaten? Crowd rises. Ripley says she’s never beaten her. As a matter of fact, Ripley’s actually beaten Charlotte! So if she’s gonna challenge for any title at WrestleMania, well…
She drops the mic and raises her title. Charlotte glances towards the WrestleMania sign as the Yes chant starts. Charlotte stands toe to toe with Rhea Ripley – she’s one of the few women that could! – and smiles. Then she just walks past her and makes her leave from the ring without a word. Though she is still holding the microphone as she makes her way up the ramp… nnno, just has that so she can turn around and say “Woo” midway up the ramp.
Still, pretty obvious that it’s gonna happen now! Very interesting stuff, that’s a cool match. Can’t say it’s one I super expected to see when the year kicked off, but the rumors were definitely intensifying ever since Charlotte got that win, for good reason looks like. We’ll see if NXT can get into that Mania Season ratings bump.
