WWE Monday Night Raw continues following that contract signing. Now, out comes the Street Profits, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. The two will be challenging Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy for the Raw tag team titles this Thursday and they shall also be facing them in individual singles matches. They call them the Monday Night Pariah and Murph the Smurf, the latter of which amazingly gets a little chant. Montez excitedly promises that they will win those tag championships. Every single day you breathe and live, there’s only four words that matter at any given second and that is, “We want the smoke”! This of course brings out Rollins and Murphy, with AOP of course backing them up.
Angelo Dawkins vs. Buddy Murphy
Murphy gets him with an immediate pump knee to the face! “Murph the Smurf” chant starts as Murphy kicks up a combination of strikes but Dawkins stops that with a headbutt. Charging clothesline, takes him to the corner, Spinning Body Block. Murphy side steps and sends him to the outside. Murphy has the same little hop that Rollins has to set up the suicide dive, but Dawkins into the ring to block it. He pounds him against the mat, when Seth Rollins comes right into the ring to attack him for the DQ.
Winner: Angelo Dawkins (by DQ)
Kinda seems not worth doing really but considering we had two of these and they started this late, not shocking. Ford gets on the mic and says he’d protect him too, since last week Murphy was hit so hard he lost his first name. But if Rollins got into the ring with him, he’d do the same thing to him! Seth is offended and indeed enters the ring to start the match.
Montez Ford vs. Seth Rollins
Ford gets him with the immediate standing dropkick and tope! Commercial break, match continues in the inset. Rollins takes control and keeps him against the mat with an arm wringer. Ford reverses the wringer, gets a dropkick in, arm drag leads to another wringer. Rollins fights up but finds himself back on the mat. Rollins eventually reverses and chops Ford in the corner. Whip to the opposite corner, Ford floats over and gets a few back flips in, dancing in Seth’s face. He charges only to get another arm drag and Rollins bails. Murphy is in the face of Dawkins at ringside as the two of them get in between the active participants.
For some reason the referee just ejects Dawkins. But after Buddy hugs Seth, he also gets ejected. Neither of those seemed particularly well set up but fine. Seth back in the ring, bickers with the ref Montez with a roll-up for 2. Springboard Crossbody gets a 2 count! Clothesline takes Seth to the outside. Pursues him, standing dropkick nailed! Throws Seth into the ring, goes up top but a running dropkick stops him! Tosses him to the mat. Seth gets Ford with a back suplex.
Rollins lands on his feet off a return back suplex attempt but then gets dumped to the outside. Seth makes his way back in, Ford gets him with an inside cradle for 2, backslides and roll-ups for another series of 2s, Rollins stops him, Buckle Bomb for a nearfall! Throws Ford to the outside, another running Powerbomb sends Ford into the barricade! Commercial break. We come back to see Seth hissing something in Ford’s face until he pops up with an enziguri.
Montez with some heavy rights, Rollins wants another Buckle Bomb but Ford reverses with a rana sending him into the corner instead! Series of clotheslines, a flying one to cap it off, kips up, yells “WrestleMania”, standing moonsault for a nearfall! Ford with a WWE Headkick, comes into the ring but just gets a boot to the gut, Seth wants a Pedigree but Ford escapes and counters with a DDT for a nearfall! Ford has an intense look in his eyes. Goes up top but Rollins stops him, hooks him for a superplex, it’s blocked, Seth wants a back body drop but Ford turns it into a Sunset Flip Bomb! Up top for the Frog Splash but Rollins evades it, nails the Stomp! Scrambles for the cover and that is that!
Winner: Seth Rollins
Pretty good stuff as one would expect. These guys can definitely go to a different level together, but good all the same.
